So we talking about Ganondorf? I honestly think they shouldn't change his moveset. In a strange way, it fits him more than his magic. He's such a big, strong-looking character, and he sissy-fights with lighting balls. Punching people with darkness seems to make more sense, and giving him a huge-ass sword would only fit him better. I know you guys think he needs projectiles and a de-cloning, and in a way I see your point. I just think that Sakurai won't change him that much, especially since people expected FLUDD to be gone and for DK to have the signature roll. He just needs to be a bit faster and a bigger hitbox. Also, must have this open for my signature.

I would kind of prefer Ganondorf to have some more magic based attacks, like his energy ball of course.

Wouldn't mind him retaining some brute strength attacks, and I like the idea of a more Akuma styled Ganondorf as well.

I could live with Ganondorf keeping his Brawl moveset,but I'd be happy to see him to be revamped, preferably with some more magic attacks.
I've actually tossed around an idea before, keeping most of his Brawl moveset and throwing in some new attacks, a Bowser revamp basically.

For the most part, he'd keep his tilts, but whip out his sword for smash attacks and his Nair, Bair, and Fair. His Uair and Dair would stay the same, his regular A hit would basically be the same, but could be held down for a mini Warlock Punch. His dash attack would be the same at first glance, but quickly smashing the button again will cause him to swing his sword out after the initial shoulder charge. And then his neutral special would be the coveted Dead Man's Volley, which needs no explanation. His side B would stay the same, but perhaps give him more distance in the air, or keep it's normal distance without leaving him helpless, his down B would also stay the same, with possibly more utility. His recovery would be similar for the most part, but would have more range and control, something like a really gimped version of ROB's recovery, he would do the initial lunge of the original recovery and then be able to hover slightly for a very short time. Other than that, he could really use a bit more speed and jumping power, I know Sakurai was going for the big brutish thing, but he's surprisingly nimble, that jump in TP.

Edit: in hindsight, I should of put in vatti and have gotten rid of ZSS as a separate character.
I like the shape.

But a few of your character choices are strange.

Now THIS is the kind of revamp that I'd be really satisfied with.

A nice mix of brute strength and sword prowess, along with some more magic, notably Dead Man's Volley.

Ha ha, of course. In an environment like this, apologizing for being stubborn is unusual, but accepted. I like to talk about Ghirahim because I know it irritates people who don't like him (which is everyone here). I want it to become my "thing".

One thing I always consider when I speculate is the people outside SmashBoards. Characters like Vaati, Ridley, Little Mac, and Palutena, or anyone we talk about: practically unknown outside here. Tingle is known, but almost entirely hated. Then there are people overseas, where different characters are popular.

I like the shape.

But a few of your character choices are strange.
To be honest, a lot of them were just so I could make the shape :laugh:
I don't really care for krystal, kalos trainer, or cranky but I needed some slots.
I do want galacta knight though, but don't expect him.

Those are some pretty cool ideas. I can see him having a powerful sword thrust as a Forward Smash. But I'd personally would want to keep the animations of his Brawl Up-Smash. If I remember correctly, he uses a different kind of Kick than what Captain Falcon does.

His old up smash could replace his up tilt: exploding vortex crotch kick, then his up smash could be some sort of sword swipe.

I like the roster, I give you props for Galacta Knight and Cranky Kong.
Personally I would remove Krystal for a 5th (6th) Zelda character or a 3rd Fire Emblem character.

I like the roster, I give you props for Galacta Knight and Cranky Kong.
Personally I would remove Krystal for a 5th (6th) Zelda character or a 3rd Fire Emblem character.
Yeah, if only I actually played any of those series...
But I do want to remove krystal and kalos trainer. Cranky might stay, he amuses me as an idea for a character.
Just imagine Vaatti in krystal's spot and, I dunno, roy in kalos trainer's spot.

A Giga Bowser-esque final smash involving Ganon would be really great, I'm mostly hoping Bowser gets a new final smash along with his fresh coat of paint. The Koopa Clown Car and some giant balls of death would be amazing.

Honestly, I'd rather they use his more iconic design that's been around since the Legend of Zelda.



But make it more realistic to fit the style of Ganondorf. Ideally like so:


In fact, maybe his FS should impliment the Trident that he uses in Four Swords. When he grabs it, it turns him from Ganondorf into Ganon, just like in the game.

Though, Meowser would make for a pretty rockin' alternate costume for him along with Dry Bowser and Dark Bowser.

Good Evening all, hope you're doing well. Well, a new semester of College is right around the corner, and I'm excited, but for now, I'll join in on the Ganondorf talk and show my ideas for a moveset for Ganondorf:


Standard A Combo: Dark Palm (8%) (Same standard A, mixed with dark energy)

Forward + A: Dark Magic Spark (14%) (Holds hand out in front of him, releases small spark of magic, does shock damage)

Up + A: Volcano Kick (27%) (Same as Brawl + Melee upper, start-up time lowered)

Down + A: Cape Sweep: (12%) (Grabs cape with arm, does a sweeping motion with arm to knock out balance)

Dash Attack: Dark Sword (11%) (A dashing attack with his sword, hits hard)



Aerial Attacks:



Neutral A: Darkness Wave (16%) (Releases a burst of darkness around himself)

Forward + A: Guillotine Slash (18%) (Straight Vertical slice with sword, Meteor Smash)

Up + A: Electric Burst (14%) (Raises hand above head, releases shock magic)

Back + A: Magic Pulse (14%) (Turns around with both hands, shoots out pulse of magic, very short-range projectile)

Down + A: Dark Stomp (22%) (Same attack as Melee and Brawl, now infused with dark magic to have darkness effects)



Smash Attacks:



Forward Smash: Warlock’s Blade (34%) (Heavy-hitting horizontal slice with longsword, hits very hard)

Up Smash: Magic Blast (30%) (Grits fist then does an upper punch, releasing heavy amounts of magic upon contact, creates small explosion effect)

Down Smash: Dark Tremor (28%) (Focuses his magic, causing dark magic to erupt from the ground around him. Can OTG)



Grab/Throws:

Grab: Grab with one hand

Pummel: Knees the opponent (4%)

Forward Throw: Charges his fist with dark energy and punches the opponent away with a burst of dark magic (10%)

Up Throw: Throws the opponent up along with a burst of electric magic (11%)

Down Throw: Smashes the opponent headfirst into the ground (7%)

Back Throw: Grabs the opponent with the end of his sword and flips them over his head, smashing both them and his sword into the ground behind him) (9%)



Special Moves:

Standard Special: Dark Magic (15-30% total) (Throws out a wave of projectiles at once, goes farther depending on time thrown)

Where's Dead Man's Volley? Pretty good otherwise.

Okay, so being a guy who likes to experiment with rosters I'd like to a do a 2 retro roster. I also have doubts about Miis anyway because they'd have to be treated differently than the rest of the cast.
Hmm..
• If we're getting another Zelda character, I'm expecting Tetra or Tingle. Vaati could still be very interesting though.
• Roy's addition seems unnecessary, but welcome I suppose. But it's not helping Sakurai with getting unique characters.
• Two retros are unnecessary but again welcome. Much rather have another more relevant miscellaneous character though (since Little Mac can still be arguably considered a retro character).

It's nice visually though can't argue against that.
