I'd personally remove either Kamek or the Stork, since we're probably not getting two Yoshi newcomers (and likely not even getting one, if I'm honest).

I'd also replace Tetra with Either Tingle or Impa, but I'm not really against Tetra.

I'd also add Palutena, but this is debatable.

I'd also add Pac-Man

and Another Historical character, such as Daitoryo (whose thread is in my signature).

Overall, though, I really like this. Unconventional choices are always fun.

We all forget things. You have Bandana Dee, so I forgive you for having no second KI Rep, which I consider a tad questionable, but oh well! This roster is nice, I'd play it!

Kamek: I really think Yoshi will get a new rep and he's the way to go.
Stork: Kinda just there. I don't expect him, replace him with K. Rool if you insist.
Tetra: I think Telda is not going to get in, thanks to that phantom, but tetra's unique and just as important if not more (if you ignore spirit tracks. kthx) so I think she should still get in. over impa. just to spite diddy. (no but really not to spite diddy)
Robin: better than chrom. pleasedontkillme honestly I havn't played awakening but the idea of having a more "potential filled" FE character would just be blatantly better.

Ah ok, but you know the character selection screen will be designed way differently, I don't think it'll be a perfect square/rectangle just like the past games so no need for double random, they can put the random space anywhere. Also i'm thinking we'll get 50 characters since I think this game is sakurai's last smash game, if it weren't for the SSE in brawl i'd expect a high amount of characters if brawl were the last, but yeah because of all the stresses he's under, I think its his last imo.

I don't like the stork but I don't hate him..... I'd rather get king boo up in there if we were to get a random mario character that's a sub series.

It's a big refresher from the plain old rosters, people like to spice their's up, so it's original and whatevs.

8/10. Newcomers are well placed, my only stringent thought that I don't like is the lack of a KI Rep when F-Zero, Mother, DK, Fire Emblem and Pokemon get more slots. But considering that you seem to have some sort of reasoning, I'll let it pass.

Here's my roster that I made specifically to go slightly against the norm.

Explainations:

Spoiler

50 characters, including transformations.
No Dixie Kong because of Sakurai looking for uniqueness this time around.
The Stork may be replaced with Kamek, but I, too support the idea. It's a character that's appeared in every Yoshi game to date (I believe) and it's the perfect way to represent the babies without changing up Yoshi's moveset.
Impa because of recent things with Zelda, seperating Sheilda due to need to make roster appear larger and more impressive. Still may be switched to Sheilda if you prefer.
Takamaru because retro.
Ridley Because Ridley.
Palutena because she's a unique female character that Sakurai understand the potential of.
Little Mac because Little Pac-Mii
Charizard over Pokemon Trainer to decrease roster size while still keeping masses fairly happy.
Ike cut due to possibility of IS wanting not to include a character which they are no longer focusing on (and because it's a roster going against the norm)
Robin due to uniqueness over other potential FE characters and possibility of being default female.
Mii because Little Pac-Mii
Daitoryo due to need for historical character and personal preference.
Pac-Man due to Little Pac-Mii and personal preference.

Doesn't mean we can't still have fun making weird inclusions. I know Viridi isn't likely, but I think it's an interesting twist. Much better than some other characters.

Here's a reason why I disagree. IS does care about Ike because in Awakening he was the only other character besides Marth to get a descendant in the game, Priam. They didn't need to add this character in, but they did, because Ike is a quite unique and popular Lord. I can list plenty of other reasons why Ike should stay, but this mainly for the one argument you present.

Wait, when you say Mother got another slot, were you talking about Lucas? Because other than that, I didn't add any Mother characters. And I don't personally believe that Kid Icarus really needs any newcomers considering the small amount of games, and Pit being such a recent inclusion to Smash Bros. However, if I were to add just one more character to my roster, it would be Palutena, for what it counts.

I'm fairly certain that people are very well aware that certain very obscure and rarely requested characters are unlikely. They just put them in just to spice up their rosters and in the very off chance their very unlikely character does wind up making it in, a 15 minute bragging rights alongside it.

I want to see characters such as Layton and Anna in Smash, but I'm not holding my breath for them.

This this this. I know it's supposed to go against the grain, but I can almost guarantee cutting Ike would be in the top 5 worst things that could happen.

Ike is popular in Fire Emblem and in Smash, is unique, and is still important to Fire Emblem.

Imo, if Ike has to be cut for a new FE character, then that character can hit the road.
