What's the chances of a chrom&lucina tag team? I'm kinda thinking this might be going through sakurai's mind.... since he's doing unique stuff.

Imo, its the only way for chrom to be in smash and to stand out. I don't think his standalone merits are good enough compared to the other candidates.

Tom Nook is cool and all, but in an inter-universal fight I'd take Anna to keep me safe for money over Tom Nook. Then again, I'd take Tom Nook way before Tingle. Tingle would probably just take all of my money, give me one map, and then fly away forever or something.

So I've done a lot of thinking on things since we got Rosalina. This is about what I'm thinking now. I've given up most of my Blue Toad hope.

I'm still gonna be a little biased and leave in Isaac as a possibility, but I think that Rosalina's reveal has helped Shulk and Chrom's chances. And there's just something about Tingle recently that I can't shake. Honestly, I'll be happy anyway you slice it as long as we get Mewtwo and Ridley.

I'm sure I may gain/lose hope for some of my newcomers after the next reveal, but for now, this is what our new, fancy space babe has done to me.

Yeah, but that's the most unique thing you could do with them, sakurai might do that. I don't think balancing would be much of an issue with the namco team on board, well did it look weird in FE:A?

All i'm saying is if chrom is gonna be picked i'd expect sakurai to go that route with him. Though i'd rather them go for roy or lyn.

I'd love to add another Kirby character, I'm just not sure how to prioritize that character over another Zelda character, or another Mario character, or Star Fox, or Retro or whatever. I just had to compromise somewhere. Same with Dixie, I really would rather have K. Rool, but she seems a hell of a whole lot more likely at this point. And for Snake, he just seems like a one time addition. They could have done the same with Sonic even, but Sonic is a special case, Nintendo should just get it over with and just buy the series. I honestly would not be surprised to see Sonic show up in Mario Kart 8, Or Mario Party 157.

Well, hypothetically speaking, it would be an interesting mechanic for potentially extending combos or providing defense by switching between characters. I mean you could simply stick with Lucina, but say you need to break the opponents relentless beatdown on you, you can switch to Chrom to break the opponents momentum and strike back. Alternatively, you can cause more creative chains by constantly swapping between characters in order to achieve a relentless beatdown, kind of how it works in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Of course, there is always the concern with balance...

I don't see how chrom can be unique on his own. two-hand, one-hand is just meh. and a lance won't cut it. But if you have anything in mind, let me know.

You're absolutely right, which is why I never want to give up hope for Isaac. But recency doesn't seem that important to me, otherwise, Blue Toad should really have a shot. I've done other research to prioritize Dixie over K. Rool, (mainly based on merchandise I saw at the comic book store), but her inclusion in Tropical Freeze just makes her that much more important to that franchise. She's Batgirl. Chrom and Shulk don't seem likely because they're newer, just that they're relevant. Shulk is an interesting character from an awesome series, much like Rosalina, and should be included because of that. Fire Emblem very understandably merits another character, and I think because of the impact that Awakening has made on the series, and he being the most recognizable face from said game, he just seems like the most logical addition, whether his moveset potential is more or less diverse than other characters. Honestly I'd love to see Lyn or Maiciah first, but what can you do?

For me It would all depend how long it takes to switch between them if it's like switching Pokemon or going between Zelda and Sheik in Brawl then I'll just stick to using one of them, if it's a pretty fast switch then I'll use both of them.

Although I was expect a decent amount of lag time during the switch for the sake of balance.
