No, probably because you JUST NOW mentioned them. You seem to be complaining that I ignored your points before you made them in which case I don't know what to tell you.
Also, while your first 2 points are debatable and your third obvious while the same reason to have Chrom, the rest is solely move related. All though I do agree with representing a different fighter other than the swordsmen in Fire Emblem.

Well it might not be the most interesting topic, but does anyone want to talk about F-Zero? I haven't seen much conversation about that series in this thread. I would imagine that most feel that another character isn't exactly needed. But I guess either Goroh or Black Shadow are interesting enough to possibly warrant an inclusion.
Of the two I prefer Black Shadow. He reminds me of classic comic book villains, much like Falcon reminds me of comic book heroes like Captain America. That and we could have Vegeta fighting M.Bison in Smash......Kind of sort of.

I was generally asking if you could think of any more "-"s and if you thought my "+"s were reasonable. That's all. No complaints or anything like that.
You missed the "concept of the Tactician" part, but yeah, that about sums it up. So, with a ratio of 3/2/1 in the format of pros/neutrals/cons, do you still think Tactician is out of the question?

He's not entirely out of the question, but I wouldn't recommend him as a likely character. Personally I'd even suggest Lyndis before him.

I don't recall suggesting "likely". I'm only explaining why I consider Tactician as the best next representative for Fire Emblem. I think both Chrom and Roy are more likely. Unsure about Lyn, though. I recall Ike being the #1 FE character in North America, which is the region for almost the entirety of Lyn's importance.

what else would you expect?
most of the lords have swords,
and all the popular and mainstay lords also have swords,
all the popular characters that don't use swords, are either not lords, or get underwhelmed from the other lords
I just can't see someone from fire emblem get in that doesn't use a sword, it just doesn't look plausible to me

What exactly is wrong with not being a Lord? Especially considering that Ike appears as a Ranger in Brawl, as opposed to a Lord.
Plus, I think that if we get 4 sword wielders, Smashers who've actually played FE would probably get mad that we see the same thing 4 times over.

Yeah, that's what stinks about it.
The main heroes mostly use swords with the exception of Sothe, Micaiah, "Robin", and Ephiriam. (and a few others, I think)
The characters with more varied fighting styles and weapons are secondary characters for the most part.

there is nothing wrong with not being a lord, but its primary the lords that are the main characters, are usually the poster boys for the game, along with being the most popular characters, that's basically it, the only non lord I see actually getting in is Anna, and with Chrom, Roy, and to a smaller extent Lyn, her chances just get outmatched.
and yes people would probably get pissed at 4 sword wielders in a row (especially fire emblem fans) but that is just the most likeliest scenario, they are just going to haft to suck up and deal with it, or actually enjoy that fire emblem actually got 4 characters, H*** I'll celebrate to ends length If it got 4

I assume it's because FE7 was the first game many westerners experienced, and Lyn is the first lord you get to know and play as in the game.
That may have been why she was chosen as an Assist Trophy in Brawl over Eliwood and Hector, by the way.

Actually, if we're going by the most popular lords in general...
It would be Ike, Hector and Lucina in that order.
Manly did a poll on it a while back.
Lyn did pretty well. 5th, I believe and Chrom was like 7th...
Marth and Roy were at the bottom.
Mind you, this was directed towards FE fans, not smash fans.

Shortie's poll stated which characters they wanted FOR SMASH.
Not in general. For example, I freaking love Shy Guy with a passion, but I wouldn't want him in smash.

How are you going to gauge general popularity without a poll of some sort?

What I'm saying is I usually interpret popularity by stuff like fan art, fan videos, fanbases, and what character is more commonly given attention by fans or just generally talked about and not just simply what people at what time who were aware and had access to a certain poll responded to with who they liked best as the ultimate "There ya see! Hard undeniable proof that he's teh most popular in teh world!"
There are other ways to interpret popularity, Swampasaur. But, I have to say listening to all this "Polls! You got to have the polls!" is funny
