As long as you recognize that the roster being finalized isn't 100% factual yet, I couldn't care less.

Not saying it is,but it'd be so illogical and unrealistic for it not to be. How could you possibly get work and development done if you keep changing the roster. Why do you think there was nothing even referencing Super Mario Galaxy in Brawl and no mention of Wind Waker in Melee? Because Sakurai doesn't want to constantly change things to keep up with the future. We're doing a crossover of Nintendo's past.

Zamus needs to be back. And I hope she brings her Justin Bailey alternate costume. I just love that version a lot more. Feels more unique, green hair gives her a more "sci fi" vibe, and the curlier hair and one-piece swimsuit-like zero suit just screams 80's Cyberpunk.

I would get that feeling again if it actually happened, but so far it's been too safe.

Last time I felt excited for a newcomer was when Sonic was confirmed back in 2007.

Ganondorf side game anyone?
It could be about Ganondorf's (the main Ganondorf, not that new one from FSA) childhood, and growing up as the only male Gerudo.
And it can show how he became the evil man he was destined to be since Skyward Sword.

I'd prefer her end of Metroid 1 look, with the red leotard, but with red hair and her normal skin tone.

@Wario and Yoshi being considered Mario characters
I've always viewed them, and Donkey Kong to an extent, to be considered Mario characters. Not SUPER Mario characters, but they're still considered Mario characters in my eyes.
Since we're on the subject, I'd like to bring up something I've noticed with the "Mario" characters in Smash throughout the years.

In Smash 64, we got four "Mario" characters: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi.
In Melee, we got three additional "Mario" characters (who were actually Super Mario characters): Peach, Bowser, and Dr. Mario.
In Brawl, we got two more "Mario" Characters: Wario and Diddy Kong.
Considering this, perhaps in Smash U / 3DS, we may get one more "Mario" character. Probably a Donkey Kong character, since one is highly requested.

Despite the fact that many people don't believe in patterns, I still think it's something interesting to think about.

but, the fact that dr. mario wasn't intended to be in the initial melee roster kinda destroys the theory a bit though...​

I subconsciously always wanted him in, even before electricity was discovered and Smash64 was even announced.

Highly depends on the context at hand.

Probably the one that will get my interest regardless of the situation at hand is arguably Shulk. With other characters, it depends on how they are handled. If Ridley is awesome, original, and such I'd really like him. If Little Mac is awesome, original, and such I'd really like him. If Palutena is awesome, original, and such I'd really like her. Basically so on and so forth, but with Shulk at least we'd have the excuse of having varies content from Xenoblade Chronicles and the sequel/successor X.
