I much rather have Genesect than Zoroark too. Funny thing was that Heracross was the most requested second-generation Pokemon during pre-Melee, so a popular bug Pokemon can certainly happen.I can live with this.
0/10What are the chances of Conker appearing in SSB4?
None. On the Wii U.What are the chances of Conker appearing in SSB4?
+1I feel pretty sad that (Advance) Wars gets mentioned rarely when it has about an equally long history as Fire Emblem does. Fire Emblem can potentially get 3 characters, Kid Icarus is in the running for 2 and Advance Wars isn't even considered a candidate. All they really need is one good game to revitalize a universally praised series that had one bad game.
It's in the list of games like Golden Sun and Sin&Punishment where being added to a Smash game could go a long way to make the franchise more popular. Not getting in will only let it fall further into obscurity with potentially no new games for quite a while.
Chrono knows about my rationale behind one of Olimar's kids becoming playable in the next game. I think it will happen, and whomever he/she is will use the new Rock/Pink (possibly more) in their moveset. He/She will be the Luigi/Young Link/Wolf of the game.I'd rather see F-Zero/Yoshi get another rep before resorting to...Olimar's daughter?
But then again, if Pikmin 3 introduces enough new Pikmin/gameplay mechanics for a new character, I'd be up for her or one of the other PCs (I assume that one of them is Olimar's son).
I don't know it. Do tell.Chrono knows about my rationale behind one of Olimar's kids becoming playable in the next game. I think it will happen, and whomever he/she is will use the new Rock/Pink (possibly more) in their moveset. He/She will be the Luigi/Young Link/Wolf of the game.
BTW, I did a statistical breakdown of my mock fifty character roster, for those interested:
Single Series: 20%
Pokemon: 12%
Mario: 10%
Donkey Kong: 8%
Kirby: 8%
Legend of Zelda: 8%
Third Party: 6%
Fire Emblem: 6%
Star Fox: 6%
Kid Icarus: 4%
Earthbound: 4%
Pikmin: 4%
Of course you can imagine how those numbers would change if a character was replaced.
Most people speculate that the boy and girl seen in the Pikmin 3 trailer are Olimar's son and daughter mentioned in the logs of the old Pikmin games.Olimar's daughter?
Since when was his daughter confirmed to be playable, let alone with pink hair?
I don't know it. Do tell.
As for Olimar Jr., it's generally believed the new protagonist in Pikmin 3 is Olimar's son, so hence the name [I gave the character]. Now, for why I'm hedging my bet on him. I'm sure you know about the new Pikmin types in Pikmin 3. Since I saw the new Pikmin I've been wondering how Sakurai is going to manage Olimar having even more Pikmin, especially when some of them [Rock/Purple] overlap in functionality, until I thought of something. What if Sakurai creates a second Pikmin character? It sounds preposterous, but think about it for a moment. What if "Olimar Jr." is the Luigi/Toon Link to Olimar? He would use all of the new Pikmin in addition to the original three colors, but his moves would be different, obviously. You and I both know "clones" are not as big of a deal as people make them out to be, nor is Sakurai opposed to a "clone" if they serve a purpose and are a good character. You need only look back at each installment to see that the Luigi's, Young Link's, and Wolf's were good characters; even if a minority did not. Well, I think this falls into this category, especially when Sakurai considered Pikmin the last major, character driven series by Nintendo apart from Animal Crossing and Nintendogs. The more I think about this choice the more it makes sense in my mind, even if the majority does not agree.
Copy/Paste....At this point, Sakurai's going to have to gamble to expand the roster, especially when there only a handful of popular choices left. Sakurai's not above surprising people, which is why some of these choices make sense in my mind.
What's so funny, is we are not even post-trailer reveal yet, and already people are trying to do the whole "prophet" routine with this game. I can only imagine what will happen once E3 rolls around next year.
Or Sakurai could focus on getting more unique characters into the initial release of SSB4, and decide to release characters like "Olimar Jr." through DLC.Sakurai cutting characters then reintroducing them as DLC seems to be a perfectly smart idea to me (*). Considering how universally beloved cut characters become -after- getting cut, there's no way this does not result in DLC being a massive success among Smash fans.
EDIT: (*) As long as he only makes a small number of cuts. Not 50-60% of the roster.
EDIT 2: I love those ****s and giggles.
Paul Gale is batting 1/3. Yes, he got the PSABR thing right, but since then, he's been wrong about everything else ( Metroid X Star Fox, exclusive Wii U reveal, Retro's project). I don't know how he managed to get a legitimate scoop, but I can guarantee you he is not as much of an insider as he makes himself out to be.Then again, the Paul Gale network leaked a ton of stuff about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale that (pretty much bar I think a stage or two) turned out to be authentic, so I don't think early Smash leaks during development is that weird.
No one would be talking about Yoshi's Island Wii U if it weren't for that NeoGAF thread. There's a second Yoshi representative who has yet to be introduced and will apparently be appearing in a new game coming out soon that Nintendo asked to be included. The rumored Yoshi Land Wii U? It's apparently Yoshi's new partner another dinosaur character. The name "Debu" has been thrown around, but I'm not sure if that's it's name or a nickname since that just means "fat" in Japanese.
>To what thy looked like back in SSB64DIALGA WILL BE A POKEBALL POKEMON, WHEN IT USES ROAR OF TIME, EVERY CHARACTER IS TURNED BACK IN TIME TO WHAT THEY'D LOOK LIKE BACK IN SSB64, AND THEY LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE SIDE-SPECIAL MOVES!
Not that I know of I'm afraid, but I do have one of Kirby with a Stand from Jojo.(Please tell me there is some fanart somewhere of Kirby in a Sherlock Holmes costume)
In hindsight I can actually see that happening now, and I kinda like the idea.Chrono knows about my rationale behind one of Olimar's kids becoming playable in the next game. I think it will happen, and whomever he/she is will use the new Rock/Pink (possibly more) in their moveset. He/She will be the Luigi/Young Link/Wolf of the game.
I kinda like some of their stage ideas, and I'll give them credit for the Takamaru and Little Mac stuff. The Nintendo Direct bit also gives that silly false sense of hope that only rumors give. Everything else is ****s:
Someone post this in the Ridley thread, I wanna see Oasis's reaction.Ridley will apparently have a style of game-play that involves the evolution seen in Other M.
I don't believe Oasis is around here anymore.Someone post this in the Ridley thread, I wanna see Oasis's reaction.
They're all safe choices. Although Cookie Country does warm my heart, but I don't need anonymous prophet to tell me that is being worked on.\I kinda like some of their stage ideas, and I'll give them credit for the Takamaru and Little Mac stuff. Man, I would hate if that happened. Ridley finally gets in and Sakurai still finds a way to epicly troll me.Someone post this in the Ridley thread, I wanna see Oasis's reaction.

The Metroid game WAS originally a Star Fox one, incidentally.
If you look at the active user box you'll see him every now and then, only hanging out in the Ridley thread though. Which is a Shame, the forum just isn't as Strong without him.I don't believe Oasis is around here anymore.
What a Shame.
Looking back now, the thing I like about stages the most is that unlike characters there's way more opportunities to be liberal and get creative. Also music. They're all safe choices. Although Cookie Country does warm my heart, but I don't need anonymous prophet to tell me that is being worked on.
Worse than that.Bad Luck Ridley: Finally gets into Smash. Duckface.
I hate the idea of Shulk and Ghirahim, but Dillion getting in would be awesome* Shulk, Dillon, and Ghirahim are currently set to be included, but they haven't been finalized like the four above.
