Rhode Island Melee Monthlies Episode I: The Rhode to Victory—November 22nd

It's about as large as Digital Mayhem or a little bigger.

I don't think it's the size of the store, but the space we're restricted to for the TVs <_<. If I bothered to get large surge protectors or something, for the center of the room, it'd actually be a really nice venue for maybe 2/3 of an esticle.

It's just, we're in Maine.

OK, I've decided I'm bad at giving comparisons, but it will definitely be big enough since the entire space will be devoted to Smash (no LAN or anything).

DM is a bigger store overall, but Smash is restricted mostly to the back.

From this point on, I'm gonna need everybody to let me know if they think they'll be showing so I can add them to the roster.

Also, I need people to BRING SETUPS.

OK, there seems to be some confusion on how many we can have here. The place is definately capable of having 40 players here easily. i have had 30 in here and it still looked almost empty...lol. i will provide as many tv's needed. of the 10 we have here. I will do what it takes to make this a great spot for all of you. It will be a nice venue to have this here in RI for as long as I am breathing...lol. Hopefully forever. I currently have 2 Wii's and 3 game Cubes. I also have 2 melee games right now. If i need to get more I will, just let me know if anyone is bringing there stuff so i can accomidate what is needed. It may help to know who is coming so i can make sure of everything i need on my end. Like enough stock such as drinks, snacks and stuff like that. We also have a pizza place right next door so food wont be too much of a problem and i will make sure that you all get some sort of a discount.

This man's benevolence has greatly boosted the image of this venue in my mind. I will definitely try to make one of these as soon as possible!

Roman, I have plenty of Dr. Pepper stocked up!! I will have tons of soda and hopefully gatorade too. I have a vendor coming this week to deliver plenty of chips and stuff...lol... so do we know how many are coming? It appears atleast about 20 so far. This is gonna be a good one it seems.

Right, but when it comes time for teams and we remove both Yoshi's and FoD, we run into the same problem of having an even number of stages.


It's not my rule.

Also, adding DK64 literally would not change a thing.


And if FoD replaces Yoshi's, not-Fox gets his/her choice of FD or Battlefield?

Also, Battlefield is a terrible stage for spacies.


Then we'd either have to have people mess with the random list (I guarantee most people will forget to change it back) or go random over and over until it goes to one of the two possible stages, which kind of wastes time.

I chose this system because I thought it would be interesting to give players a more direct influence on the stage selection.

who's rule is it?

Also I bet going back to mess with the random list and resetting the matches a few times wouldn't take as along as people being confused about these new rules and asking questions etc. I mean at every single tourney I attend I still get people who don't know how advanced slob picks work. lol

Anyways, enough *****ing from me, I'll be curious to see how this turns out.

Looks like momentum is picking up!! Glad to see it. I want to be able to do this about once per month. WHo knows maybe this will be once of the best sometime time...lol. Once everyone is here just make sure i get everyones imput on how we can make it better too. By the looks of things I think atleast 17 of the players posting are coming. Some of you are also bringing others. Like I said earlier, try to leave me a message if you can on if you are coming and if you are bringing others, cuz I am trying to make sure you are all comfortable in the venue. hopefully i can provide a great time for everyone even if you dont win...lol

It's about a 3 hour drive, need a full car for gas money etc, and a bunch of peeps have work / other things they can't get out of for short notice. (johns johns) However this venue looks really promising so I (and probly everyone else) DEFINITELY want to come to the next one.
