In spirit of our recent travels toward "doing things long overdue" with attempted game mechanic changes, we should also revisit individual character changes and go through the process of tweaking them.
Now there have been several attempts to rally a movement to make this sh*t happen. It however more than likely has not and with how everyone in the WBR is busy in one way or another, at any time or another...
well, it's obvious that such a thing would probably not be done for a while.
However, the idea of the WBR Hub, and giving the public an outpost for more voice as well as more err...connection with the WBR seems to be a definite.
Why not allow this topic to be among the first for discussion on the WBR Hub?
We could do a character a day at least, a week at most (or however we want to), post up the latest changelist, and let them argue their point(s).
It will be stressed that completely removing the change would be a last resort. Ideally the premise for the change will remain unaltered, but the execution will be more effective, being either more or less of what it currently is.
The organizational mess of the latest GSH1 might make this difficult since the changelist isn't exactly...clear...or precise however. Although it's in our ability to sort that out.
Another really obvious problem is of course bias/ignorance/moar bias that goes into deciding what happens to character X. Rather, how much of public word should be considered? We all also know bias will happen regardless; even amongst ourselves this will happen; actually it has happened several times.
Besides there is not a rep for every single character in B+ in the WBR I'll assume, and some non-WBR members already have a huge influence on what affects their characters anywho.
We really aren't running on any sorta deadline for B+. Or rather, because we lack incentive, deadlines don't matter too much. Regardless, the notion that we should make this the best game it can be with the available tools, no matter how long it takes, is one most of the community shares anyway...at least that seems to be the case. You can't make everyone happen, but we can well **** try.
So...how about it? =V
