Rockstar Games has just revealed that the original Red Dead Redemption will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PS4 later this August. You can check out the official trailer below and get the entire details from Rockstar's announcement page:

Originally released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption is the 2nd entry in Rockstar Games' widely acclaimed Red Dead series (the first being 2004's Red Dead Revolver). In Redemption, you play as former western outlaw John Marston who is forced back to his old ways to save his family. The non-canon Undead Nightmare expansion has John fighting loads of undead in hopes of a possible cure. The original Red Dead Redemption received many GOTY awards and would be proceeded by 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2 which continued the high praise and success of the series.

This rerelease will not be a remake or remaster and will instead just be a port for modern systems that will include some minor additions such as additional language support. The multiplayer from the original version will not be available. The Undead Nightmare expansion as well as the bonus content from the original version's GOTY edition are included though.

Red Dead Redemption will release on Switch and PS4 digitally on August 17th for $49.99. Additionally, the game will be getting a physical release for these systems on October 13th. The eShop page for the game is already up which you can check out here.
