Well, I wouldn't know, imo. But I think since Ryu's inclusion, some may have been more reasonable to think maybe his chances could be possible more than before when they doubted any more 3rd parties before Ryu.

My Ratings for Rayman

Before

Chance: 65%

This all comes down to whether or not Sakurai cares enough to make Rayman playable. Sure, he has a model in the game, but that's all it is so far. We don't know if Sakurai is actually going to care enough about Rayman to make a moveset from the ground up (I still don't know if Sakurai has seen the publicity of the ArtsyOmni leak). We also don't know the full backstory of why the trophies are in the game in the first place except for the fact that Sakurai himself asked for them. For all we know, he could have just added them for the sake of adding them (though I don't like to think that he did).

I'll say this, Rayman's chances are higher than any other third-party, but it really comes down to Sakurai's Rayman knowledge (if he has any).

This would be a dream come true for me. I'm saying this not just as a fan of Nintendo, but a fan of gaming as a whole.

Super Mario,Sonic the Hedgehog,Mega Man,Pac-Man,Rayman, and Solid Snake all have a great history across dozens of gaming platforms. The Super Smash Brothers franchise has always been a big family reunion for the popular and the not-so-popular video game characters. No matter what you people may think of Rayman, he is a video game character through and through. He also has a 20 year history with the world. Sure, you wouldn't see him on t-shirts as much as Mario, Sonic, and Pac-Man, but he has touched our hearts one way or another with just how zany he is.

I don't really think the addition of Ryu changed anything when it comes to Rayman's chances due to the fact that he wasn't a ballot character, but the reason I raised the percentage is because Rayman is last third-party character I could see being added to the game should no other character get in the way. He has the biggest support next to Banjo if you ignore the unlikely indie characters, and Banjo himself doesn't look all that likely due to him being owned by Microsoft. Plus there's the fact that Rayman is already in the game in some form. If Rayman is a character with a large amount of votes, I could see Sakurai choosing him due to the fact that he would just need the permission of Ubisoft and not need to go through lisencing issues and such.

Rayman will always be my most wanted character for this game. He has history, and he may not be as popular as Mario, Sonic, or Pac-Man, but he's still iconic and I love him.

I gave my reasoning. I gave him a 25% only because I really do think he's one of the more possible third parties that could make it in. Of course my want score was a 100%. I pretty much stated that a companies relationship with Nintendo shouldn't be the only factor for third parties, if anything that's just a minor thing. They make it out as that the only way a third party could be in. When in reality it's not even much of an argument. I also mentioned the trophy and also that Rayman has just as much star power and an icon status as the other third parties. I know Ubisofts relationship with Nintendo isn't the best right now but that doesn't mean a damn thing especially since Sega, Capcom, and Namco had their ups and downs with the company as well over the past 2 decades. This threesomes relationship with Nintendo only gotten better up until just recently really.

On the bright side, at least his chance rating went up. That puts him right on Snake's tail (no pun intended) at the 10th position.

Rayman's arguably one of the most likely and wanted third parties currently. He's not guaranteed, but his chances are rather high. Let's all just cross our fingers and hope this comes true.

If it wasn't for the trophies, I would give Rayman lower than a 10% chance. However, since the trophies are in, I give him a 40-50% chance. My mind keeps thinking, "Why have the trophies and not a character?"

If this does deconfrim K.Rool, then I will be seriously upset. He's one of the leading characters on the Ballot, and they make him a costume. I do find it odd they use the Rare design though.

Well, I know how much Japan really had a thing with Chrom, and well, since he's in the game as a FS already, I can see why they made a Mii form of him.

King K Rool however, that's a blatant addition from the fan demand, maybe mostly from the west but I'd assume worldwide still, is a nod on Nintendo's awareness of his popularity. Making him just a Mii costume is rather eyebrow raising, if that's all he's got with him.

Now, you guys know how I felt when they got the Inkling got costumes. These two were probably some of the leading Charcaters for the ballot, now fans can't really say anything about the Inkling anymore and fans are still voting for them online and I dont think the Mii costumes are going to stop anyone for wanting a character. You can make it out as an argument all you want but people are still going to vote for their character. It doesn't matter what their "chances" they'll still vote.

Also with this somewhat recent news this may confirm that we could be getting a direct sometime soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai wanted to throw people off since K.Rool being added is so obvious at this point. lol I'm sure his team could do something with that Custom and turn it into the real K.rool. If not based on his secret model now. I'm more interested in seeing what Sakurai does with dat Rayman trophy doh

My opinion on this: The Smash team couldn't put a solid move set together in time to have a quality character. This is good news for his appearance in Smash 5 but it looks like he won't make the cut this time . Let's see if we can at least get Dixie Kong in. Her chances were probably better all along.

Don't be too hard on Sakurai. I imagine he tried to get K Rool in (or at least looked into it).

It's sad that King K. Rool may not make it for DLC, I do at least hope that Sakurai at least tried to get him in or considered him if he did then it's fine, however I expect him and the Inkling to be the top priorities for a Smash 5. Even though it's still early to even think about a 5th game but what can you do except for silently supporting them now.

That's what plenty of people have been saying, too. And the fact his name hasn't been actually said from what I hear from the translated JP post, that could be the case.
