You guys remember when I brought up the idea of a letter? Well, in case you guys are still interested in that, here's an example of what you should write.
Hello,
I’m writing in regards of the recently released Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and 3DS. I’m excited for these games more than anyone else, mainly with the Wii U version. However, there is one thing that I’m not quite satisfied about this, and that is Rayman who was not included as a playable character as many have hoped for. Now I am already fully aware that he’s a trophy in the Wii U version, let alone the full roster for both versions, but I feel strongly that Rayman should have his place as part of the playable roster in Smash Bros. Now I am quite aware that most people are upset with Ubisoft given their recent treatment to your system, namely with Rayman Legends being delayed and losing its exclusivity on the Wii U. However, I am willing to overlook these shortcomings and state that it is possible for Rayman to be playable, because here are reasons why: I know that in spite of the current situation between you and Ubisoft that everyone thinks about, both of you have actually been good supporters for one another, especially since the Wii. It’s also noteworthy that Ubisoft has been one of the few third party developers to actually support the Wii U compared to other companies, even actually speaking praise of the Wii U console itself. In addition to this, even while Rayman Legends is no longer exclusive to the Wii U, the Wii U version does contain unlockable Mario and Luigi costumes for the playable characters. Also, the game was published in Japan by Nintendo yourselves. What’s also interesting is that the Wii U version of Rayman Legends was the one that sold more copies compared to the other consoles. Aside from just Rayman Legends, Rayman has appear on most Nintendo consoles and handhelds, including Rayman 1 for the Gameboy Advance and DSi, Rayman 2 on the N64, as well as the DS and 3DS ports, Rayman 3 for the GameCube and Gameboy Advance, Rayman Origins for both the Wii and 3DS, and the Rayman Raving Rabbids series on the Wii. But just to make my point on what I’m saying, please make Rayman playable in Smash Bros via DLC. I know you may not have direct influence over Sakurai’s development on the game, but what I’m saying it can be done. Recently, Mewtwo has been announced as playable DLC himself for both versions. Since this confirms that DLC is indeed possible, then making Rayman playable can be done. I know you and Sakurai said that you have no plans in releasing any other form of DLC, but if you do, I beg you, on behalf of all other wishes the same, to strongly consider making Rayman a playable character in Smash Bros through DLC, even if you both say no. He’s already got not one, but three trophies from his own series in Smash Bros Wii U, so he’s got a definite chance at becoming playable DLC more than ever. Other than that, I deeply appreciate the hard work Sakurai has done in making these games, as well as asking Ubisoft for permission to add the trophies to the Wii U version. I sincerely hope that he considers making Rayman playable soon.
