NC sucks??? Really I didn't really notice mainly because that was my first tourney and I was still getting over shock that people would counter-pick your character and level for the sake of winning.
NC doesn't suck, so much as outside of PP, Ali and maybe one or two others, very few of us could make it into the top 10 of a national tournament. The fact that I've gotten top six placings in NC doesn't mean as much as a result.

Suck My Kiss!
I'd have to say 5-6.
I don't play as her much but I am pretty good with her.
If I mained as her (which would never happen) I could prolly get around 8-9.5 level.

I'd say about 6... 7 at prime gaming. I always beat my friends as her, anyways... One even mains Sonic (which I hate D:<)
I can beat my friends sonic also and he seconds sonic, but I am still not a 6 or 7. Sonic is just sonic. I wouldn't judge my zss just on the sonic matchup.

I'm new to these boards, i want to use ZSS as my tertiare. She spaces awesome, i like her style :p If i would rate mines, i have to say 5/10 so far. I'm still getting used to her. I am, however, spacing pretty good so far. I just need to use that Dsmash and Gun more, and less Fsmash. I also need to know for something for my aerial game, thats where i screw up. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated ^_^

U-airs, B-airs, F-airs is what ou use. Try to avoid using D-air because of the terrible landing lag.

My lowest rating of myself would be a 5 when facing The Bird and sonic says im to slow.

my mid rating is a 7 against DK,ROB,Wolf,Ike and MK they are annoying but i can still beat them.

high 8-9 Everyone else mostly piece of cake.

Ike seriously, he is easy, unless you get hit then you instantly die.

Just be careful around Ike and don't roll dodge and try to not dash alot too much chance for tripping. ZSS's D-smash works wonders against Ike, plus you can gimp his recovery BAD , up B gets destroyed by well timed over B's, and side B gets destroyed by pretty much everything.

I was just all woah at that statement because NC is traditionally a good state for fighters along with Georgia and NY we are normally the best on the EC. Hmm I should go to more tourneys maybe I would if I had more money's :(, and more free time EE *shakes fist*

The people that have jacked up numbers that I've never heard of before.... yeah...
I'm with DC on this one, lol.

lots of 9s from people that aren't placing at tournies; don't unrealistically rate yourself, it's only hurting your ability to improve.

Personally, I don't think anyone of us is over an 8.

Well, we're still a good state. There are just much better communities out there. My point was that since my being middling good in NC might not mean as much as being the same level nationally.

Most of NC also hates Brawl. There was a lot of skill in Melee, but that community had a bit of a hiccup when Brawl came out.

I agree with this statement. There are a select few of us that are that high or else zss would be dominating nationally.

I was under the impression that in comparitive level to the best ZSS player, in terms of ZSS's total potential, I would put myself at a 5 or 6, I complelty agree with that statement about no one even being above 8, ZSS is weird and I think we still have a few more things to figure out with her.

This maybe True but not all Ike players are wack :/ when someone can land Ike's Forward Air with no lagg constantly with no room for a side b what the hell am i supposed to do.

easier said then done ike jabs come out to fast after Fair.
Sadly, fair is in the air and jab is on the ground... Fair takes ****ing 18 frames to come out its too slow against ZSS -_-;;

Unless you meant Ike just SHAD to jab instead of doing a fair.

On topic:

oh uhh my ZSS is Pi :)

Dude you can use neutral B on him to keep him honest, normally I don't use this move much but it works well against Ike.

Also jump around Ike alot over B spamming versus Ike isn't the best of Ideas, your can punish all his melee attacks on whiff except jab and n-air, if you bait them, so go with that, and running away over B hits Ike the f-air extends his hitbox, a little. But yeah that move can be a wall, Its one of his 4 bread and butters, jab, n-air, f-air,grab.

Well, if the scale goes something like this:

9-10 : High placings in tournament; perfected just about everything imaginable
7-8 : Decent placings in tournaments; has an advanced grasp of most things ZSS
5-6 : Your "average" player; can participate in tournaments but doesn't do very well
3-4 : A rookie player; many mistakes are present in his (or hers) fighting style; still has a long way to go
1-2 : Some random drunk dude that picked up a controller and has never in his life heard or played Smash

I think I fall in the 3-4 category.

I would say that is a decent scale to go by. I would be a 4. I haven't gone to any tournaments yet, so I can't be any higher. Still a lot of work to do.

I still stick with my answer based on that scale, which is about how I was rating at the time anyways.

I'd say 3-4ish.

Well, I can't exactly say that top ten is a good measurement, since if you're going to a local tournament with only 12 people, getting into the top ten isn't that hard.

My definition of "high placing" would probably be place in or just below money.

Another thing to note is that winning a little local tournament with a bunch of people who don't shorthop doesn't put you in that category.

Online tournaments are also not as "good" as participating a "real-life" tournament. Lag and stuff usually messes with certain aspects of the game and may tip the scales toward a player who is more "used" to playing in lag.

-----------------

In brief, your a 9-10 on that scale if your talked about for your elite use of mindgames, winning or doing exceptionally well in big tournaments (non-online) and can compete with the likes of the pros. If you do gain reknown by playing exceptionnally well and that most people consider you to be one of the best Zss players, then sure, put yourself in that category.

But, for the love of god people, at least try to be realistic.

9-10 would essentially be consistently placing in the top 5 in tournaments and receiving payouts. Honestly, I think Snakeee is probably the only one who truly fits in this range.

Duh local tourneys with like 20 people are easy I have only not gotten first in one at that was a loss to a friend, when I had a bad headache at that.

I was thinking that if you are making money for 9, aka you at least break even with winnings, and 10 for if you are dominating.

I would say I’m high 5’s low 6’s. A friend of mine told me that I was 7.5 I think. But that was months ago when he was practicing against me for when he played Snakeee. I have not gotten much better since then

By this scale, I'm a 7 or an 8. I would tend not to agree, but whatever.

I thought we already agreed that Snakeee was on the scale of 11.
