He's really likely. This is usually the highest I would go for predictions. Anyways, he is wildly popular and hugely missed in Smash. The only con he has is he has always been low priority in the games, missing out on two of them.

Mewtwo's chances: 85% - He/it is one of the more popular Pokemon of all time. On top of that, it has a new movie coming out and a new transformation in Pokemon X/Y. So if relevancy ever mattered to either Sakurai or Game Freak, than that's a bonus too. Mewtwo almost made into Brawl as well. Only getting cut due to time, so at the very least Sakurai at the time must have at least interested in using the character again. Really the only thing that would hold Mewtwo back is if it was a "low priority" character again. And still would not become playable due to time restraints, much like why it was cut from Brawl.

Want: 60% - I do like Mewtwo. But I could live if he didn't show up in another Smash game. And if he does show up again, I want to see what kinds of ways he can be improved upon from the Melee incarnation.

Prediction: Krystal would get like 45% if you ask me. Still a somewhat viable character, who could possible be unique both as a standalone character and as a Star Fox rep. But, she's not all that relevant as before. Nor was she as popular as before, so her chance might have slipped by her.

I nominate Ganondorf 5 times. If I'm not mistaken, he's one of the few Melee vets that people didn't add to the "Guaranteed Character" list. And I just want to know why.

Likelihood: 100% After he was cut from Melee, he's had loads of support to be brought back. Not only that, but he wasn't even cut in the first place, and was originally intended to be in Brawl. Sakurai has acknowledged him and even said they were considering including him or his new form.

Want: 70%. I never liked Mewtwo, really, so meh.

Krystal prediction: 40%. I know next to nothing about Star Fox, so I'm just pulling this number out of my ass. Krystal is a very divisive character, with some demanding her inclusion and others strongly against it. So I'm going for forty.

Krystal prediction: 55% Krystal is the next likely SF rep, but with the series not having a new game with her since Command, and the newest being a 64 remake, it really lowers her chances. Plus, with the huge divide between inclusion doesn't help.

this was one of my fav characters to play in Melee. I would like it if he came back with the new form as a transformation like I said before.

This going to be low because star fox won't get another rep. But in a way it is still possible for Wolf to be replaced by her. Smash also needs more girls (why not?) so I think this would be a good inclusion replacing Wolf.

Immensely iconic, and has a large resume of video-game appearances. Large fanbase (at least in America). Large backlash to his cutting in Brawl. Negligible hatebase. Game Freak has been charging up Mewtwo hype for years now, with videogame events and card game specials. This has culminated in the reveal of a new form for Mewtwo. Though it has garnered a mixed reaction, it has undoubtedly made Mewtwo a more current subject. Smash games have a tendency to add Pokemon characters that are relevant to the current generation, and Mewtwo now fits that bill just as well as he fits the bill of being iconic for Pokemon in general.

Furthermore, the act of adding Mewtwo, in and of itself, is a tempting one. Sakurai is in a position where every choice he makes is scrutinized by fans, and Mewtwo would be a definite crowd-pleaser. Mewtwo would also fill the role of a surprise addition, no matter how much he is predicted, because the act of adding in a cut character is itself surprising.

Sakurai has admitted to "thinking" about the addition of Awakened Mewtwo, in a situation where he could have simply remained hidden and silent.

Mewtwo's Chance: 80% - He's overwhelmingly popular in Japan and the US both. Not to mention the uproar caused because of his removal from Brawl. He's also relevant again because of his new form. A much better choice than Zoroark, in my opinion.

Mewtwo Want: 100% - He was my favorite in Melee (other than Marth), and after he was gone, it just wasn't the same. I tried to like Lucario. I really did.

Krystal Prediction: 54.5% - Not particularly the most wanted character, but if she does make it in, she will most definitely be unique.

Mewtwo likelihood: 80% - Everything is pointing to his return with a large amount of fan demand, his new form in XY and the recent Pokemon movie. Only reason I'm not rating him higher is because he does have some decent competition for a slot on the roster from Zoroark and even Genesect who are also popular Pokemon and have also been featured in movies. That said Mewtwo is easily the most likely of the three.

Want: 80% - Would be down for seeing him return. Hope they do with him what they did with Wario and give him two skins (one his classic form and the other his new form).

I still remember watching the first movie in the theater, and fighting him in the first Pokemon Stadium. I try to see through nostalgia when making decisions, but man, Mewtwo is one awesome mofo. I would prefer an improved moveset that fits with the raw-power aspect of his character, but even with a Melee build I'll be a happy camper.

I feel like people are overestimating his chances just a slight bit. That said I think he has a lot going for him being in the next smash bros. A new form means Mewtwo is more relevant than he's been in quite a while but it might depend on his role in Pokemon X & Y. If he's catchable in the games I'm thinking he might have more chance than if he's an event pokemon. So unless a new 6th gen Lucario appears, Mewtwo should be in a good position.
