So yup. read descriptions. thought i might put these in video thread but wasn't sure so here you go. Please don't mention using utilt, upb out of shield, and db. Also I didn't have any videos of him beating me so don't be like "he sucks"... so anyway yeah. These are also just friendlies and that's why he just SD'd that one time when he got greedy. Please critique both of us though... we appreciate the criticism. More videos should come... but I don't have much time so just be patient. I forgot to mention I'm the white marth, but i guess you could figure that out from my sig and the fact that i said i won.

When you grab your opponent at 0, dthrow to reverse Fsmash.

Marth dittos really are silly though, and there were too many errors to do a play by play write-up. Let me know when you have a match against a non-Marth opponent.

Your double fairs were punished multiple times. You should mix it up with more approaches or just lose that one.

You guys could both probably use counter more also.

ok don't counter i think counter is marths worst move. Try f-throw f-smash for an early sweet spot but i think it only works at o% and certain characters. Use shield than up-b if he gets close but u have to have tap jump on for that. u can also try grab release than up-b right after he gets free from grab release. And try not to d-smash i think its also a bad move for marth sorry about mentioning up-b out of shield i just had to tell you

Dude wtf, Counter is like perfect against MK's en other tiers.

That, my friend, is why u dont main marth. Why counter a laser? That practically ensures that u will be hit by the next one (provided falco didnt short hop too high). Counter is what u should whip out when someone does a move that telegraphs *falcone pawnch* or when u want to play defense in the air and punish ur opponent. Projectile countering fails unless u use it against something like ROB's lazer.

If dash attack gets shielded, you are definitely going to get punished in one way or another and it doen't matter who you are playing. I try not to dash at all unless I'm attempting a hyphen smash on someone above me or I'm going for a dash->shieldgrab or dash->shield->up-b.

Wow this thread has now changed to what is marth's worst move... not actually giving me suggestions. I wouldn't doubt it if you haven't watched the videos.

In that case every time you dash if your opponent knows you or has read this post, you have VERY limited options because that is all you ever do out of a dash.

I have been practicing using tilts outta my shield but i still need practice with f-tilt outta shield. Sometimes i accidentally dodge when i pull up my sheild (my controller fails sometimes). Anyway, thx for amending my previous post

i watched the second vid. the other marth is terrible. you guys both try to gimp in marth dittos when it doesn't work against anyone that knows how to abuse invincibility frames from hanging on the edge/DS.

you try to ken combo which doesn't work in brawl. n-air probably would have gimped there too.

you unnecessarily rush forward a lot and get punished for it. your double f-air approach isn't good.

as you play better and better people you'll realize that you have to play more and more defensive.

It may have just been the fact that it was a Marth ditto, but he doesn't really use smashboards. he screws around on gamefaqs and occasionally lurks SWF. he'll hear about some techniques, but he won't have read all the threads on how ken combos don't work, double fairs don't work well, fast falling aerials, etc. he knows all the terms, sure. just as much as we do. but i gurantee you he hasn't read all those essential EL threads. Also i remind you guys that i was the white marth, because it sounds like some of you are rating the wrong one. I only think that because i didn't think i double faired. I know i don't anymore... but maybe i did in the vids... don't want to go watch them for double fairs... waste of time.

if you watch a video of every good marth, whenever one attempts a double f-air approach the success rate is near zero percent.
