I keep tap jump on. I actually use it sometimes for really quick uairs.

Why are you having trouble doing the RAR uair with tap jump? Are you uairing with control stick up and A? I use the c stick for almost all my aerials, and I think this would remedy your problem.

Yes I use the control stick, Im not a big fan of the C's and I never use up to jump rly...always have been more comfortable with using Y.
I will try it out though. When I was trying to figure this big guy out, I was having trouble and I watched some videos and it was beyond me how people could do it without ever accidently double jumping which seems to be the giant problem with hitting u-A instead of the C.

Thanks for the advice!

I believe just about any character can do this. Ness can do this on characters taller than him.

Oooh, I first thought you were having trouble with accidentaly u-smashing or something, but you're using y>up A. Just got the problem reversed. Yea definitely try out c-stick as it's going to help out a lot and stop you from double jumping. Work with it a little bit more and you'll start to like it.

The only time I uair with the control stick is when I tap jump on the control stick, continue to hold up, and tap A. It is good for a rising Uair right off the ground. It's useful for under platforms to cause the platform trip animation so you can start juggling and aerial comboing, but in general, it's all about the c-stick.

I've always had tap jump on, and I use the c-stick for all my smashes and aerials.

This shouldn't be to hard.

Well I guess I have some catching up to do. So do you guys all jump with the control stick then? cuz it would seem i am not qucik enough to tap Y to short hop and then hit the C..although it seemed I was quick enough to do some thunderstorming.

If you find it hard to perform his auto canceled SH-uair, you'll find it even harder to perform his auto canceled SH-dair!!

I think the choice of button/stick-combination is the most important thing here..
Plus one has to have good timing!

Nope, jump with the y button, then slam the c-stick up.

Hold right on the control stick -> tap left on the control stick and tap y at the same time -> slam the c-stick up immediately there after.

Practice makes perfect.

Yeah I have been fooling around with it and practice would seem to help a considerable amount...I can get the autocancelled u-airs and b-airs now. Now I gotta work them into a match. Thankx for the help lol. I was jsut never a fan of the Cs but it realy has given me a new way to do things.

When I said I was doing some thunderstorming, i was using the control stick to jump. It's actually seeeming more difficult to do it that way and I get the same amount of movement as I would if i just held down and hit A...If im wrong, correct me

Funny. I can autocancel fine just by using the X button. It's easy to thunderstorm with, etc. I don't use tap jump, I don't use Y, just X. Meh.

I use AC Uair often, but I use SH Dair a LOT for bait. Then depending on their spacing after taking the bait, it's a buffered dtilt for maximum range, jab for quickness, or ftilt/iDA/fsmash/stutter step fsmash for the KO.

Okay so I have been playin the crap outta ganon and I have managed to get comfortable with the AC u-airs both reverse and normal. I am still workin in the reverse jabs and dtilts after I land, but I still have to ask...for those AC D-airs, Does one way of doing them produce more range? cuz After a while of tryin to figure it out It would seem hittin X then down on C lets me hop pretty freakin far but I cant perform it comfortably.
