Yes, the small amount of money was a factor, but I have college to pay for, and I have a car I need to take care of. Taking trips to fond du lac for basically "the hell of it" is not something I can currently afford. Get your facts straight...

next, i've known tapion longer, and he has told me TO MY FACE AND TO OTHERS AS WELL that he only goes to tournaments now for hte money. no money = no go. that is tapion. i've tried in the past to get tapion to go to other tournaments as he used to be one of, if not MY SINGLE favorite smasher. but now, the answer is always "i probably won't make any money and i dont wanna pay for gas, entrance fees, etc without paying for it with the tournament so no".

tapions rep wasn't the problem. the problem was that the tournament was made to get one person to go. that's not how a tournament should be ran.

I spent 20 dollars the night before for Webster's birthday, spent 20 on gas, 5 dollars on arcade tokens, and won 35 at the tournament (I gave jazzness 10 dollars because I felt 15 was too small for second place, so instead of getting 45, I took 35). So no, I actually lost money (20+20+5 = 45. 45-35 = -10)

When I actually go to smash tournaments, I always have a blast. I love all the people, (except a select few) and playing the game is great. You make it seem like I'm some kind of a low-life for going to tournaments solely for the money. Keep in mind I still play smash, I still enjoy playing with people, but TRAVELING TO TOURNAMENTS AND PEOPLE'S HOUSES IS EXPENSIVE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE NO MONEY TO SPEND ON THEM!

when you were planning on going to the tournament, did you know you would be doing this? probably not. you calculated whether or not you would probalby come out with a net gain and went. its the intent for why you go to a tournament, which is your problem.

you recomending **** doesnt mean jack squat. when the tourney director designed the pot, he designed it so that you would be a guarantee show up. that was the INTENT OF THE HOST. there is no other logical explanation for why he would put that much money into 1st prize only.

2. host knows you need money
3. host knows you will win tourney
4. if you do not make a net gain, you do not go to a tournament
5. to ensure you make a net gain, host biases pot ridiculously towards first place., thus ensuring your attendance. whatever you do with the money is your choice, but he has a guaranteed attendance of tapion, which helps his tourney wonders.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM I HAD no tournament should be made this way. although i completely disaprove of why you go to tourneys, that wasn't the issue. the issue was a tourney based on your negative smash attitude.

Stop hiding behind your god **** computer screen, grow the **** up, and before you make more ridiculously ignorant assumptions, maybe you should find out why I'm going to smash tournaments for the money instead of thinking in your head "Tapion's such a jerk to only go for the money." I didn't stop traveling for tournaments because of SMYM. I didn't even want to go to it in the first place. I didn't even want to go to MLG Chicago, I planned on stopping after FC. Obviously I gave in to what is a good time, but my wallet paid for it, and my brain is telling me that I just can't do it anymore.

anything i say to you on here i would say to your face. you should know that.

next, reasons for going for money:

i have to pay for alot of things = smash money will never cover. will it help? sure. would traveling to a tournament with people and losing maybe 20-30 bucks from entrance fees (cuz youd prob be able to get out of paying gas) once in a while hurt your pocket SO much your financial situation would change so drastically that you would never be able to go to smash tournaments again? no, it wouldn't.

now lets go back in time to after smym. when tapion was so fed up with the game because he lost to marth1 in pools and got elimed. "im just not improving, im stuck in a rut. i wont get better and there's no point to traveling to smash tournaments anymore". THATS WHY YOU ****IGN QUIT. so what do you do? you go to wisc tournaments where wisc smashers idolize you and pay you royally to be there. here's a suggestion. try stepping outside of your comfort zone and maybe sticking with it instead of giving up like a loser.

Life is not smash. For me, life is hard, it's painful, and it's full of struggle. If you lived my life, you wouldn't go to tournaments either.

ok here's wher ei draw the line. im sorry but you dont have a rough life. you go to a college. you ahve a car. you have a place to sleep. you go to tons and tons of smash tourneys. you have a job. seems pretty fine to me. don't play this bull**** pity card cuz it aint working. neither you, nor i, nor anyone on these boards have it rough, get some perspective.


and i typed all of this knowing you wont respond. cuz hopefullly people can see what bull**** you are spewing.



also, its a smart idea when you are stating an arguement to NOT try to play yourself off as not caring about hte money then outright say you go to tournaments solely for the money.

to all who say im "flaming" and being "immature". idk, but it seems to me i was threatened physically by whoever the host is because i disagreed with the rules. THAT sounds immature to me, idk about you. and as for flaming, i haven't said one false statement about tapion. i've only said things that i have experienced first hand. if that comes off as flaming then it's not my fault.


and as final note, i used to ****ign love you tapion. you were my smash hero. maybe that was because you were the first good person i played. i dont like to think that. i like to think that it was because you were really helpful and pretty tolerant and an all around nice guy. but then you quit, and something in you changed. jokes you usually laughed at you didn't anymore, aka retirement jokes. you didnt like the game the way you did before. it wasn't about the competition or the improving, it was about the money. then the blood hawk thing happend and i have no ****ing clue what happened to you. i may be a jerk to you now, but i SURE AS HELL wasn't a jerk to you ever before. why would i be a jerk to someone i continued to idolize? the answer is, i wouldn't.

so you can go on thinking you are the victim and i am the criminal but to me it's the other way around.

I have never heard about/ met you and I find it extreamly embarrasing that this kind of discussion is going on in a wisconsin board. I have never met tapion in real life, however all I have heard from other players about him are good things. Who cares where and when he goes to turneys. IT"S NOT ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!!
