I do not main Sheik, nor have I any experiance with her.

but today while playing, a thought came into my head. what if a shiek player started the match with zelda (knowing the starting positions on the stage, just to be safe). would there be time in order to bait an attack or an approach from your opponant then switch into sheik automatically to punish? or is that totally unlogical? has anyone ever tried it?

Against a competent opponent you'll be hard pressed to find the time to switch. I mean you could theoretically bait something laggy but it's unlikely. I don't know why Sheik wouldn't be the default for a sheik main though.

this has nothing to do really with the op, but i saw something interesting on youtub and it got me thinking.

they say sheiks best move against a sleeping jiggs is a charge upsmash or something, but what if you change back into zelda to get an even more powerful fsmash or upsmash if youre able to land it???

in most versions of smash, it's easy to SDI out of zelda's charged smashes

i was actually messing with this last night so it's somewhat fresh on my mind

a zelda kick does 20 and is probably the 'best' for KO-ing (after walking them closer to the edge a bit)
a fully charged grounded usmash (the typical hit on a resting puff) does 17 (not sure on this one as my memory is a bit fuzzy, but it's less than all the others)
dthrow nair/bair does 22
dthrow fair does 21
dthrow uair does 20
dair -> nair does 25 but is really hard to do consistently, especially with DI

of course, all the sheik punishes are subject to stale moves... but on the other hand, by staying sheik (and especially for punishes with grab), you get a free full needle charge and keep the momentum (or whatever semblance of momentum exists vs jigglypuff) instead of having to transform back

so i guess it depends on the %%s and stage on whether its really worth it to turn into zelda and go for a zelda kick. Fully charge upsmash can still kill puff pretty early and i didnt even think about the free opportunity to charge up the needles in the time it would take to turn back into sheik.

it would be a cool way to finish a match i suppose

maybe hitting the player with a fair or bair then switch immediatly, that zelda move is powerful enough to give u enough time to switch then just play shiek, cause if u stay zelda u will lose lol.

Only thing I could think of for using Zelda as some sort of offensive weapon would be using Nayru's shield to reflect Samus' energy blast.
but i doubt that would be that useful when you can just needle the energy ball.
