In a few weeks a group of friends and I will be heading to our first tournament. We all think we'll most likely lose, but we still wanna try to win.

On that note, my Marth friend has a dilemma. He's thinking about choosing a secondary so his game plan won't be as so predictable in the tournament, but he thinks that if he chooses a secondary, he'll end up losing skill with his Marth. I understand Marth is one of the few characters that doesn't have a hard counterpick, but he (and I) am concerned because he doesn't want to become predictable in the tournament setting.

So the question is pretty simple but mildly important for my friend: Should he pick up a secondary or stay with being Marth only? If the former, what secondary should he pick up?

Also use Meta Knight if you're the type to be in raptures over being called a cheap horrible person or something.

Otherwise just use Snake. Just keep spamming ftilt till they jump then utilt ftw.

Go with Snake...I actually had to pick him up a few times(dont hate me lol).

Snake and Marth is a great combination, Snake is the best youll get against MK besides MK himself.

Mind going a bit more in-depth with why Snake is the best secondary? It'll take plenty of explanation for my friend to pick him up seeing as how he's a huge Marth fan and Snake... not so much.

Ummmm G&W imo is one of the easiest top tiers to pick up, or ROB b/c going from being a zoning Marth to a camping ROB is something that could screw your opponents up. I'm saying ROB b/c ROB is imo easier to pick up then Snake in terms of deep gameplay.
