You can't seriously compare the leaf from wind waker with G&W's parachute, lol. The parachute in melee is just another aerial and in Brawl, the parachute only has one animation. The leaf, on the other hand, could possibly create a gust or something when using it on the ground.Eh, Game&Watch already had the parachute. The way Young Link bomb hops now is far more interesting than yet another floating move.
The thing is, you don't want clones when you could have all new characters. If similar looking characters must be in, they could at least make their playstyles differ (compare to Ryu and Ken in Street Fighter).Again, I'm fine with the level of changes PM made to Toon Link. He feels like a different character and in many cases animates like one. I've got no problem with a few similarities here and there. Besides, sometimes it's nice having a few familiar characters that emphasizing different playstyles.
um... that's exactly what they did. P:M Link doesn't have fire arrows or the mobile spin attack, Toonie's F-smash is different(based on Link 64's), and they have different aerial Spin Attacks(Toonie's being more like Link 64's). Toonie is also lighter and faster than Link is.The thing is, you don't want clones when you could have all new characters. If similar looking characters must be in, they could at least make their playstyles differ (compare to Ryu and Ken in Street Fighter).
They tried that and it didn't go too well.I am not talking about PM because it is very inadequate since it is not developed by Sakurai. Raise it up to the sky all you want, but it really doesn't matter since the fanbase can do whatever they want, and ideally they make changes they want; different playstyles for clones.
Quick, run for the hills, Toon Link is displacing air.The parachute in melee is just another aerial and in Brawl, the parachute only has one animation. The leaf, on the other hand, could possibly create a gust or something when using it on the ground.
On Kiki's behalf, this is a very ignorant viewpoint. Every character enables similar playstyles because you can play any character in whatever ineffective way you want.@ Kiki: Link is heavier, yes, but their movesets are very identical compared to their relative size, thus enabling similar playstyles.
While this viewpoint is skewed and warped to the point of irrelevence, I can say that Skullgirls gets boring watching the same 56 matchups discounting dittos, especially when several matchups with specific characters look the same regardless of who the opponent is.As far as the (balanced community goes) wtf do they even care? It is going to use 6 charachters out of that cast. Guess how many characters they would use in a super balanced 6 character game?
The preocupation for balancing is kinda hypocritical.
Sakurai implicitly said the game will feature AT LEAST fifty characters because it's a standard amount for every fighting game nowdays. So you wont be disappointed about that.Honestly, that didn't change my thoughts in the slightest about the character roster. I am still expecting 51-56 characters (transformation included).
You just revived a 2, nearly 3, month old thread for that? What?
Years, actually! You just revived a 2, nearly 3, month old thread for that?
Oh, wow, didn't even notice the 2012. He did it in other threads too with the exact same quote and reply. Either a troll or a bot of some sort.Years, actually!
