Welp. I think what's most concerning about this is that some of these games were done in RPG Maker.
Even though Panel de Pon isn't by any means an active franchise, they could still find any number of reasons to take my fangame down. I mean, heck, Panel de Pon is on every current Virtual Console. Even though this game wouldn't have the same style of gameplay at all (and even though it would be English-language), they could still see it as "affecting the sales" of said VC rerelease and try to take me down.
What do you think I should do?
(I should probably note that I'm dead-set against turning this game into a spiritual successor. It started as a Panepon fan project and it's going to stay that way. It's intended to show my passion for an under-recognized series, and turning it into an original IP would completely go against the point of that.)
