Well, take it away, Onymous!I could do it right now on F Yeah Panel de Pon.
Here we are. Took a while to find some time when I was able to post it, but there you go!Well, take it away, Onymous!
Sweet efforts! You could possibly try posting moveset ideas in the mix in a later time to further showcase Lip's potential as a fighter. Good luck!!!Here we are. Took a while to find some time when I was able to post it, but there you go!
Let's not stop here. We have to do everything we can to get the word out about the series and Lip's viability as a character.
Five is definitely not the limit. Roy, Ryu and Lucas will likely be available after the Smash Direct ends, and are we going to wait more that 6 months for just one character (the ballot winner)? Seems very unrealistic.Bad news for us. Since Japan's Smash U update accidentally leaked Classic mode gameplay trailers for Ryu and Roy, it's looking more and more like the Smash Direct will focus only on Lucas and the aforementioned two characters. Meaning that if that's the case, our first four DLC characters are (in probable order) Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy, and Ryu, and if five are all we're getting... eesh. Lip's in trouble. : (
What do you guys want to do? Because if five's the limit, there's absolutely no way poor Lippy is even going to have a ghost of a chance against juggernauts like K. Rool or Isaac. No chance. It was never in the cards.
(Gosh, I'm starting to feel like an idiot for even thinking we could ever pull something together.)
Half-@$$ed is the word, really. Three returning newcomers with entirely unchanged movesets aside from their Final Smash, and the one who isn't is probably a direct model rip from Street Fighter IV anyhow so that's half their work done for them (and he will have a moveset that consists of something like B - Hadouken, Side+B - Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku, Up+B - Shoryuken, Final Smash - Shinku Hadouken, mark my words. That's like, one move that isn't completely predictable). With how, pardon my French, half-***** the DLC characters are, I actually wouldn't mind not seeing Lip in SSB4 and rather push her for the next game. It's been said by Random T. Bush that the three new characters also won't have any custom moves either, just like Mewtwo.
There's evidence that five is all that's planned, and that's enough to get me down. After all, there was evidence for Ryu and Roy. ^^;Five is definitely not the limit. I know you're talking about the placeholders, but if Brawl is any indication, it's possible to add more characters than there are placeholders for. Brawl's CSS was designed to hold 50 icons when that many characters were never planned at any stage in development. There's evidence that five is all that's planned, and that's enough to get me down. I appreciate your optimism, though. I guess we could still give this our best shot just in case there happens to be more than five - just so long as I don't expect anything major to come from it, since that's where all this disappointment is stemming from in the first place. I'll have to dig up that composite Lip moveset and post it up on the ol' blog.
Will you please calm down, there is no way there are only going to be five DLC characters. The ballot's not even halfway close to its end, and four DLC characters have already been announced.Bad news for us. Actually, Ryu's special moves are:Half-@$$ed is the word, really. So I'm right, basically. Good to know.Actually, Ryu's special moves are:
Shoryuken, Hadouken, Tatsumaki and a parry.. I think? The last one wasn't really clear on the preview picture. And Ryu's Final Smash is a strong Hadouken.
My initial posts on the matter were largely my inner pessimist talking. Eventually I started looking at it the way you said. Just because a certain bit of DLC seems like it'll be the last one doesn't mean it's going to be. After all, hackers just recently found residual data for Kamek in Mario Kart 8... Anything's possible. Will you please calm down, there is no way there are only going to be five DLC characters. The ballot's not even halfway close to its end, and four DLC characters have already been announced.
This is what you should be taking away from this:
Today's leaks mean that Nintendo is ALREADY working on characters, since we're not even halfway to the ballot's end date, so that means it's not even close to being the final roster. If you consider the fact that Nintendo is adding characters both BEFORE and AFTER the end of the ballot, that means they're planning to do a CRAPLOAD of characters, way more than just six. Mario Kart 8 also confirms that they're willing to splurge on tons of new content for their existing games. Creating 16 new full-fledged race tracks is not cheap or easy to do, which means they are committed to adding substantial amounts of content.
If anything you should be excited because of this. It means Lip has a better chance than she's ever had.
You know, the funny thing is, this is just what I was getting upset at another member for just a few pages ago.Now let's not start freaking out thinking that Lip will not be in the game, let's not despair, lose all hope, and give up our dreams, for we still have time, Panel Poppers! She needs to be in the five DLC ballot characters list, so we need to continue giving it all we got.
Yes, more potential, so I think she could make it after 14 years. So, let's continue pushing our votes past the limit!Ehh, I still think Lip has more potential, but that's my personal bias talking obviously.
I could try to write up a script for that, if you want me to.Operation Tachibana is/was making a video for why she would make a good choice for a Smash Bros. character. We could try doing that for Lip, but it'd take some time...
C'mon, dude. You need to ask? Go right ahead!I could try to write up a script for that, if you want me to.
Don't forget my campaign art I made!C'mon, dude. You need to ask? Go right ahead!
The best plan of action for right now is to get the word out to as many people as we can about the existence of Lip and her series. Fan art will help, especially if directly related to the subject of Lip in SSB4 and especially especially if we spread that fan-art around as much as possible. (Everyone Draw Lip Day, maybe?)
It's on F Yeah Panel de Pon. Whether anyone will actually see it, though (seven notes so far)...Don't forget my campaign art I made!
Here's to hopin' we'll get more out of SSB this year. Fortunately, the density of SSB4 DLC is good news, in a sense - four new characters either released or announced in the first half of the year alone. I hope this will bode well!the magican branch is wide open for a NEW Character to step in and who should be that? Yeah... no one else but Lip! I see positively in the future at least you know ... 20th anniversary^^.
But honestly I hope this is not all what Smash have to offer this year...
I think there should be "less talking, more doing". It's okay to organize a fan movement, but I think if you do, you should practice what you preach. Instead of simply telling others to draw pro-DLC Lip fanart, or to spread the campaign pictures around as much as we can, let's all do it together (and show proof we did!).OK, we'll be fine. Let's share our artwork, and my campaign pictures from the F Yeah Panel de Pon pictures as many sites as we can
So you had been catching on to our plan lately? Snooping as usual I see. Jk jkOperation Tachibana is/was making a video for why she would make a good choice for a Smash Bros. character. We could try doing that for Lip, but it'd take some time...
They should keep it to Panel de Pon but then again, Mother was a pretty popular franchise, even if it was niche. I don't think Panel de Pon will get released on eShop though. It's official: Mother 1 is officially being released internationally as EarthBound Beginnings. About time!
Thoughts on what this could mean for Panel de Pon? (Possibly under a different title? Lip's Puzzle League? Popples Puzzle League? Pixie Puzzle League? ehh?) It would sidestep the whole "Tetris" name issue that's keeping them from rereleasing Tetris Attack, at least.
Relax? Well, excuse me for replying to your question. Never tell me to "relax".Relax, it's not like I'm getting my hopes up for PDP or anything. That ship sailed long ago!
I was being facetious.Relax? Well, excuse me for replying to your question. Never tell me to "relax".
Neither was Murasame Castle and that didn't stop it from being bought to the West. Even Panel de Pon AND Famicom Tantei Club had way more games than it and Nintendo somehow felt it was worthy enough for a quick buck. They should keep it to Panel de Pon but then again, Mother was a pretty popular franchise, even if it was niche.
