With the leak pretty much being confirmed as real at this point, it's hard (if not pointless, no offense) to still hope that she's playable...(at least in the initial game, see my post above about potential DLC) especially since we already know what the remaining characters will be.
Do we? I don't recall that bit being confirmed.
I believe the original 4chan leaker said that
If no one voted for Lip the first time, I find it hard to believe anyone will vote for her the second time. That's if there's DLC voting at all to begin with, obviously. For all we know the DLC could have been decided on ages ago.
there are 4 slots left (not counting Mii Fighters) it could be a combination of Lucas, IC, Wolf, Dixie, Ridley, Mewtwo, Krystal, K.Rool, the other ones you mentioned, and even Lip. I don't think the leaker said anything about the rest of the cast that wasn't unlocked so we have to wait and see.
Actually its 5 left, Mii Fighters are accessed through a different menu. The chances of Lip are quite slim, though.
I disagree. Sakurai tends to like to include a classic character per game, MAYBE you can argue two, although that may be less likely in this game. We've got Duck Hunt Dog as well, that drops her chances significantly. Its still possible, but I wouldn't bet on it at all. I'd be shocked if she was even an Assist Trophy, unfortunately...
You know that is an unofficial leak and the videos given of Bowser Jr. and Shulk don't automatically tie together with the Roster shown before hand right?

They came from the same source didn't they? I'm not 100% on this myself, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Even still. Just showing one character from the "leak" in a legit looking video does not automatically make all the other characters legit unless they show legit looking gameplay videos of said character.

No worries man. I believe Lip will be playable.
I wish I could be that optimistic. I still think Ridley, K. Rool, and Isaac are likely playable, but I have very little hope for Lip at all.
Well, if that is what you believe. I support characters until the bitter end, either when they are confirmed or deconfirmed I shall support them.
Who said I stopped supporting Lip? I still support characters to the bitter end, that doesn't mean I actively believe a character will be playable. I support Krystal, even though I haven't thought she'd be playable since Spring.
Never said that you did. My first sentence saying "if that is what you believe" was referencing to what you said that you think Lip's chances are low.
Honestly, I think she'd be MORE likely as Mario Kart DLC since her original game was rebranded as a Mario game. Either way her chances are slim, but I'll support her for anything. They need to bring back the fairies and Panel de Pon in general.
Well, there seems to be a small divide between the people who think Lip still has a chance and that she doesn't...so let's take a quick look at what she has going for her and what she doesn't (not sure if this has been done before or not).
I say if there's any more obscure Retro characters in the game, or even if Sakurai goes for a true puzzle game rep (with puzzle games represented in the actual moveset), Lip is probably the top contender, but that's not saying much. I don't think the odds look good for her, but Lip's Stick as an item and Kirby transforming into a Garbage Block mean nothing for her being a playable candidate.
While that is true, it can be argued that Lip's Stick and Kirby's Garbage Block transformation (mainly Lip's stick) is Sakurai's way of "representing" Panel De Pon in Smash. Maybe a bit far fetched, yes, but that's just my two cents.
I agree, but the point most people make is that Sakurai might think its adequate representation.
I remember actually imagining this months before the yesterday's DLC. Impossibility though, considering Lip's obscurity.
I dunno I think Lip would fit in really well with the art style of Mario Kart and she'd certainly look iconic with her red ponytail flowing in the wind. I suppose she has the same unlikely chance at being in either of these games.
