For wavedashing, you must be sure to release R before pressing L. Brawl does not detect specific buttons, and instead reads the command assigned to them. This essentially means that L and R (two buttons with shield input) are read as a single button, and both must be released before new input is accepted.Loving v2.5!
It's a little weird trying to shake off the Brawl-playstyle of the new additions, but I'm liking what has been done. And it feels (nearly) exactly as Melee.
Only problems I've ran into are:
1) Can't wavedash-OoS when holding shield down all the way [I shield with R, and wavedash with L]
2) When striking stages on the stage select screen, when you go to the second page after having a stage striked on the first page the strike gets erased.
1) We're very aware! For now, you can light press one shoulder button and full press the other to get the desired effect.Loving v2.5!

I use Riivolution and I know what you are talking about. I have a crappy thumbdrive that I run the game on (all my SD cards are too big otherwise I'd be using Gecko). I compared my loading times to my friends and it wasn't even close. He near instantly loaded through Gecko, and I was taking anywhere from 5-13 seconds just to load a stage. Menu and character music will "skip" or stop playing for a good stretch like 5 seconds and then keep going. However, actual gameplay should not be affected besides maybe Zelda transformation loading. I've not had any gameplay problems, loading some stuff has been slow though.I loaded 2.5 through riivolution but it seems like the whole game is in slow motion. Slow by only a bit it's barley noticeable. Is riivolution known for this? Or do different USB drives read more slowly.
Sorry pickle I didn't realize your account was still logged in...
The music also lags really bad.
you know you can choose victory pose right?EDIT: Also I can't for the life of me get diddy's boom box or squirtle's glasses as a victory pose to show up. Like 10 straight games with them and nothing lol.
Press Z during Diddy's dash attack. You can also wavedash to pick them up.Not being able to pick up banansd with dash attack kills momentum and options diddy used to have for example >_>.
you can pick up bananas with DA tho. You just have to hit Z as Diddy's hand touches the ground over the banana. It's an extra input, is all. Diddy is actually the only one who can do that. All of the newcomers save ivy feel worse than their brawl counterparts to me :/. Not being able to pick up banansd with dash attack kills momentum and options diddy used to have for example >_>.
The download counter was stuck at 6 for a while, so you probably weren't the seventh downloader.Man, I just got done with a five hour Project M binge, and i can truly say that you guys really outdone yourselves. My new favorite char is squirtle. His SideB is sooo good.
and I was the seventh downloader, yay =D
Did not know. Thanks for the heads up.you know you can choose victory pose right?
press b x y or a dpad direction when the green GAME text comes at the end of the round
Only a victory pose, as far as I can tell. However, I don't think I've seen him do a victory pose where he wasn't wearing the shades. I saw him do several poses, all of them wearing shades.Did not know. Thanks for the heads up.
So has anyone figured out how to put on squirtle's shades or if its only a victory pose? I dont have a computer with me to look through the .pac
omfg must testI've been told that the shades are put on by pressing b right after the backflip in his up taunt.
I could not get it to work :/ I tried pushing several different buttons during all his different taunts. Nothing :'(Please tell me if it it true or not, I would be so happy if it worked.
Because only Diddy can do it. It gives him greater banana control than any other character.Wait, you can't pick up items with a dash anymore? I mean, without an extra input? Is that new to 2.5? What was the reason for adding an unnecessary button press to pick up items during a dash?
I don't think it's that it hurts gameplay. It's that they wanted Diddy to have more options with the bananas than anyone else. Cuz they're his.No, I mean, why make that change? Just to differentiate Diddy? I wasn't aware being able to pick up items from a dash really hurt gameplay any.
It's a global change. It applies to all items. Everybody else can still wavedash over an item to grab it though. Is it a global change to all items, or does it only affect bananas that Diddy spawns? I'd try it myself, but I won't have a chance to play for a while still.
There were no Diddy's throwing bananas around in 2.1, so it's hard to rememberPretty sure you couldn't grab them with dash attacks in 2.1 either.
