Soooooooooo why was USBGEcko deleted off my SD card right in the middle of me playing?

Can starting a new match too quickly cause that? Thats what I did, got to the CSS then pressed AAA really fast, then BAM USBGecko gone. Zelda vs lvl 7 ROB on FD.

When I tried to reboot Brawl said it was "loading vault data." ??? Turned my internet off, tried again no go. Odd

Well redownloading 2.1 I guess.

I can't say it would as I've done that exact same process hundreds of times, for sometimes hours in one sitting.

That's possible, though it was kinda random. Was playing for a good 40 minutes with no hitches. I dunno. Will reinstall and try again, if it don't work I'll assume your right and my SD card just decided to blow up.

Ganon's punch should just be reworked to use his sword like vBrawl Marth's nB. Give the otherwise useless move a little extra range. It's speed would still prevent it from being useful, but at least it would look ****in' awesome...

because he has a similar body structure to falcon!

that's why squirtle has the same moveset as bowser :awesome: oh wait :urg:

+1 for Drinking Food's idea.

i'd say to give ganon the same amount of sword moves as snake has knife moves, perhaps one more. you know, the knife that in no way existed in the coding before PM? while ganon's sword already exists as a taunt? meh... :bluejump:

I'm not sure if it's been posted here yet or not, but if you have a twitter, please follow us @ProjectMelee :)

You'll always know whenever someone decides to do some Demo 2.5 preview streaming, as well as any updates of announcements that we have planned. Also, follow @Imperator_JC and @_daze for kicks and giggles as well :p

The venue in my area is running some charity event this Saturday, so the usual Saturdaze Stream will be moved to a Sundaze Stream instead. :p Stream will start around 2pm PST at http://twitch.tv/dazee_ . Yakal, SinisterB, Starwaffle, RustyShacklefurd, BigD, Kantrip, Kaosnoob, Skidd, + 1 special guest will all be there so be sure you tune in. ;)

My twitter is @Imperator_JCz

Did you fix the youtube link yet on your stream? I'm starting to think you're spelling my stuff wrong on purpose :p

For future reference, I much prefer my name shortened as JCz rather than JC. JC just gets too confusing in the smash community.

Anyways, yeah, everyone should follow @ProjectMelee

imagine yourself in neutral just dash dancing and wavedashing about enjoying life when a wild IKE approaches with a FORWARD AERIAL in his hand. all willy nilly! why would he do this to you? is he out of his mind? did he even space it correctly? what can you do?! what do you do?!! WHY did you do it?!?

Use any of the literally hundreds of moves faster than his fair.

Yes yes

Ike is very scary, but it'll be okay. We can just address the issue of his polarizing nature of being extremely slow but with high-advantage, large attacks by making his main mobility option 3 frames slower and making him do more shield stun with his tippers.

His tippers do more shield stun? Last I remember, they made tippers do less damage/knockback or something along those lines. Kind of canceling out the hitlag property they have. And perhaps then some.

But he's not extremely slow. I mean, his mobility and ground speed aren't top tier, but considering his range and power, he moves plenty fast to cover what he needs to cover.

Covering linear distance quickly isn't the same as being fast. A lot more goes into speed than barreling in a straight line. Falcon, for example is also slow as hell for the most part, he just has a lot better mobility options due to a great combination of dash length, dash speed, gravity, and jump velocity.

But... that kinda DOES make him fast. Granted, not all his moves come out as quickly as fox, but that doesn't make him slow... I'm not sure getting where you get that Falcon is slow, or even slow-ish.

So his whole sword system has been completely changed then? 2.1 has better angles on Ike's tippers. Well if it's a complete overhaul there's a bit less to comment on.

Let's hope the redesign comes with less dedicated/less linear movement options. Making his sword system something with a higher learning curve for reward is great for low level play I guess, but it doesn't really have much of an effect on his silly design.

Slow moves, fast movement, fast mobility, laggy/slow ending on moves. Hella slow isn't the best descriptor, but he's not winning any rewards for beating out enemy moves before they can reach him.

Ike's just slow, fast, slow, slow for the most part. Which is at least better than vBrawl's slow slow slow slow. D-tilt's nice though. Good synergy with F-tilt.

Well I mean, if he's not beating out moves, that's more like low priority than anything. Although I guess speed contributes to apparent priority, and not having unnaturally early hitboxes compounds that.

Oh god he was so slow in vbrawl.
but lovely dtilt
I would marry that one move

Also why do people seem to think that QD is really fast or something.
It has 9 frames of startup for one, and unless you're grabbing out of it (I'll admit this one is really good), usmashing out of it (way overrated), or up-bing out of it (**** and everyone knows it's ****), you have to add another 5 frames for jumpstart, that's before you can even do an aerial, and if you want a different ground move (not suggested usually) you have to add another ten for the wavedash. QD's only really good if you're giving him a lot of room, or if he's already in a largely advantageous position (especially if you're knocked down, you're pretty much guaranteed to be QD grabbed lol).

I feel like if the apparent issue with QuickDraw is that it covers too much distance too quickly and with too little dedication, the worst possible solution is to make the jump-out slower. I'd much rather the move's start up made faster, decrease the distance covered by an uncharged side-B, and make the charge up until the largest distance take more than 30 frames or whatever it is. Makes it less dedicated for short-range spacing and movement, and less obnoxious for long range stage control. More in line with Pit/Sheik/Fox/Marth's neutral games, where the design focus really ought to be for movement-oriented characters.

But I guess that's why this stuff is all still alpha build. No dev teams wants a blatantly inferior product.

You know, Kink, you spend a lot of time talking about how Ike is under-powered. I'm kinda curious about what you think of his tournament dominance. Do you feel that people aren't exploiting Ike's flaws properly? If that is so, what would you recommend people do?

Though I'm a pretty hardcore lurker, I'm on this thread a lot. Most of the time, I disagree heavily with your opinions of the metagame. That isn't to say you aren't right; neither of us have much to go on, aside from theorycraft and tournament footage/results. So, if you're inclined, I'd like to figure this out in a more productive way: moneymatches. I'm willing to put my hard earned cash on the line to prove that my Ike and Dedede can find their way around any way you try to exploit them.

Kink-Link, lets fight. Like gentlemen. ^_^

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say 2.1 Ike isn't broken. He's really freaking good, but not broken.

I think the change to his QD that was semi-revealed isn't gonna help his metagame. When compared to the shines, it may seem like this is a good idea, but the fact is that Ike doesn't have the aerials that the spacies do, even wolf. All of Ike's attacks in the air are so slow compared to the furries so the change doesn't really make much sense to me.

But I'm not balancing the game. I know it's in good hands. Just figured I'd say something about it.

Also, Blue fire hype.
