Nah man, aside from a few tweaks here and there, his up-throw is the only thing I have a problem with. Actually, I have a problem with kill throws in general, not just in Lucas.

Give almost every character a kill throw like in 64 and I'd be okay with them.

I completely agree. They boil the game down to fishing for a grab because it is usually the easiest way to close out a stock. That isn't fun to watch or play.
The fact that characters like Mewtwo and Lucas have kill throws is ridiculous, lol.

Being punished when I land a successful hit on someone? Yeah that's a lot worse than kill throws imo.

I wouldn't mind throw kills being removed if this game didn't have characters that never die or characters who are built around being extremely campy.

Once footstools are the new meta people will ***** about that instead because it's honestly way more stupid.

Ness and Lucas get so much off of footstools because of the DJC too. Free combos for days. Except why would Ness footstool when he can PKFire you to death.

I'm not saying it's broken or anything, I just think that it gets rid of the creativity people can go into play rather than people just fishing for grabs that automatically kill rather than grabs into combos.

This is especially true for Lucas because his kill throw contrasts with the rest of his moveset, where he's a very combo oriented character with set-ups, shield pressure, and a plethora of kill moves, where his up-throw is just a single grab into kill.

Lucas would not be that much worse without a kill throw. And if Lucas tournament consistency drops just because of that one nerf, well, that says a lot about the players.

It's an unnecessary gimmick that doesn't match with the rest of his character style.

Lucas' dash grab is like Link's spin2win, ton of active frames but if you dodge it the Link/Lucas is still stuck in the move for a free punish.

You can DI Lucas's Up Throw behind him to live longer.

I've had people DI my Up Throw and live at like 120-130%. unless you're a super floaty character, in which case you're done.

I guess he doesn't need it, but no character needs one either.

I've actually had my entire dash grab spot dodged before, although it IS hard to do than to dodge his standing grab (which is really easy to dodge). But if you dash grab and miss, that's a lot of lag, so I wouldn't say it's safe.
