If I was to say anything about bravely default after clocking in 100+ hours on it.
It's extremely fun in terms of gameplay, and you have a lot of room for experimentation.
I'd rate it's gameplay a literal 10/10, although sometimes normal monsters are pretty OP. to the point where they might be harder than a boss fight lol. It's a good thing they literally let you turn off monster encounters to more personalize your experience. Or you can double the encounter rate. However you want to do it.
It's difficulty is good, very good. Maybe to the point of being too difficult for normal people, but that's why there is a difficulty setting.
Now it's story.
It's story was good, but also bad.
There's a specific plot point that just wasn't executed right that made it suffer. If not for that, it would of been 10/10 material for me. I'd give it an 8/10 in that regard.
I'd say it's story was 8/10 for the magazine type reviews if it was executed right, but for the way it was currently executed I'd say magazine people would give it a 7/10.
The humor in it is more of a hit or miss type thing depending on the individual. I enjoyed it a lot but I could see why some people might not like it. (Whatever, I get to enjoy it more than them
)
The literal best thing that I loved about bravely default was when it screwed me over. amazingly.
Literally at the end of the game, I'm maxed out on all the classes and level 99.
I didn't want to go beat the game because I felt it was going to be too easy since I was overtrained and regretted it. The levels just happened to come while I was getting all the class skills.
Go to the second to last boss.
GOT DESTROYED.
I came in so underprepared thinking that I could just take it down like a champion that I got punished hard for it. That made me love that game 10x more.
Never go in that game overconfident. Be prepared for anything, it might surprise you.
