yah thisI'm getting the feeling that lots of people are writing off the complainers as just Melee loyalists, and I think that isn't true or fair. Not being Melee is fine but from what I've gathered so far, a lot of movement options were further gimped from Brawl and defensive mechanics like shields and rolling either stayed the same as Brawl or were buffed. These are all fair arguments about Smash 4, and people complaining about them shouldn't be written off as a blind Melee lover. Saying that certain shield mechanics or whatnot were better in Melee than Brawl and should be carried into Smash 4 isn't being a Melee loyalist too, its simply wanting a better mechanic in the game.
There are plenty of Melee mechanics that I'm glad won't be in this game. L cancelling*, ledge rolling to hog, invincible ledge dashing and stalling, even dashdancing to be perfectly honest. Smash 64 style DDing would be ideal tho.
* of course Brawl's approach of giving certain characters low lag/good autocancel windows and others so much lag that their aerials are basically useless was no better
