Porky's rapid jab is DIable in this game, so just DI it before the strong hit comes out.

Duon ain't ****. Meta Ridley trolls so hard though.
Yeah, The key here believe it or not is to NOT shield against him. A few of his attacks will drag and/or slam the Falcon Flyer below the blast zone. If you're on the flyer during those intervals regardless of what you're doing, your character is dead and thy game is over.

I had those problems in brawl.

While the advice is helpful I have moved on past that a long time ago. Now I just have to deal with his damage racking up shenanigans.


Or I could just ignore it entirely now that the entire achievement's page is open....

I hate his rapid stab. It racks up damage like a madman.

Along with that laser. Sheesh.

On this day, thanks to Ganon's Usmash I have finally beaten intense mode.

That mode has too many shenanigans. Mostly metal ridley and Tabuu though.
I beat Intense mode with Fox laser camp and Up-air's all day every day. Thanks Project M for making Boss Battles easier to deal with with all of these meleefied characters.

That would of worked for me.

But HD lag TV + Tabuu waves is not good for a drawn out fight.

Meta Ridley is really easy. When he's idle, stand on the very back of the flyer and none of his instant attacks can hit you. When he goes offscreen, run to the front end of the flyer and jump.

I guess while we're on the subject: could any PMBR member or other knowledgable person shed some light on how air time of a jump is calculated/ what affects it?

In some testing I did, I was observing some weird phenomena like the character getting several more frames of air time when DIing to either side than with neutral DI, and slightly fewer frames but still more than neutral when DIing up.

Is there a way to calculate the air time in frames a character will get from a jump with just the attribute values like jump velocity and fall speed?
That is drifting, not DI.
Seriously. People need to be better informed and not confuse the two, or new players are going to have a hard learning how to actually DI.

People don't get what you're saying. I had to re-read your post a couple times because it didn't make any sense until I realized that.
Drifting isn't exactly "hard" to say either. And It still will confuse new players if you use an acronym that means something completely different.



Dolphin is confusing me. I'm using frame advance in it, and all the inputs seem to come out 3 frames late? Like i'll input shield, or a jab, or a dash or w/e, and I have to advance three frames forward for the animation to begin. what gives?
The comp I'm using for it isn't powerful enough to run PM at full speed, but that shouldn't affect frame advance any.

I dont think they can add more characters,, besides pichu. But modes like tournament mode would be of interest to me, subspace be cool too. Subspace could be pretty hype depending, but thats not what most people play PM for so I think ths most hype would be character changes and stage addition.

I beat Boss Battles on Intense 3 times... in vBrawl, before I started modding.

Let's see, I did it with 3 characters - Sonic, Toon Link, and Fox, in that order. Sonic made attacks stupidly easy to dodge just by using his spring to shoot himself above them, and then attack out of it. TL's dair was pretty much broken against them, and Fox's up special does a lot of damage if you're on them while using it.

Tabuu is one of the easier ones, since he's predictable. I always had the most trouble from Rayquaza and Porky. I'd have it as:

Challenging:
Rayquaza
Porky

A bit tougher than average:
Duon

Not hard at all:
Galleom
Ridley
Tabuu
Meta Ridley

Easy:
Crazy Hand
Master Hand
Petey Pirahna

I don't think I could make it faster reasonably. Would just need better L cancels to make it happen.

They're easy to dodge once you get the timing. When you see him about to do the waves, run to the very edge of the stage and do one of those dodges where you don't actually move from the spot you're standing. Once you get the timing right, it's really freaking easy to avoid those.

Like the Wii wifi, or Netplay? I don't have both, unfortunately. I am hesitating if getting the wifi-safe set is worth the trouble. Is the lag that intolerable?

It's only as bad as our nets pretty much. It's intolerable with bad internet, but I know when I play with @QQQQQQQ7777777 sometimes we get matches that are so smooth it's almost like playing locally.

It's pretty frustrating though sometimes. It may not be worth it, but sometimes it's worth having a go.

Tabuu still really hard, some of his moves are down right impossible to dodge such as golden brackets and the tether grab which both have silly range. Offwaves are garbage, I don't remember the last time I got hit by them.

I've completed boss battles on intense with every character in vBrawl, maybe I should try it again.

Is it wrong that the only problem I have with Tabuu is the waves? ;_;

The golden brackets are OP if they hit.
and that's a big if for me, whether or not it's Project M or Brawl. Most of the time I get fked over by the waves.

Well, the waves are pretty bad, I could probably dodge them with my eyes closed since there's so many sound cues and it's pretty rhythmic.

Tabuu is very inconsistent honestly, Brackets , tether grab are both pretty low risk high reward for Tabuu.

Laser is a pain to deal with too because most characters don't get enough air time to jump over it.
