again: the itemplay in MKWii is incredibly interesting, and that's all that really matters. the second you take away itemplay in a mario kart, you're just playing an incredibly boring racing game and nothing else

MKDS has incredibly prominent item-play though, and you can actually avoid a blueshell with excellent timing. Not to mention all of the crazy shortcuts possible - A ton are feasible even without a mushroom because of how boosting worked in that game.

Importing and cropping two gifs n Photoshop, having to edit one cause it's creator got Nagisa's/Cure Black's eye color wrong and the gifs got white background after the import in, flipping Honoka/Cure White the other way to make things look better, then taking a webm and converting it into a gif and then having to import it into Photoshop in halves because of limits on transfers, then trying to resize the thing without having the program crash on me or eat up too much memory which was steadily rising.

I've been at this all day.I put way too much work into this sig when I know I'm the only one who is going to appreciate it.

@Lunchables yea I know Roy would be a solid choice for a second to Toon Link but whenever I try to play him even semi seriously he becomes a lot less fun for me to play as and a character being for me to play is a very important factor me. It's just trying to find said character that also covers bad MUs is rather rough. Do you maybe have any other suggestions for a secondary besides Roy?

To all those talking about Mario Kart I'd love to point out MK7, my favourite one in the series. I believe it has the perfect balance in terms of items if you were to compare it to the outliers of item balance in other games in the series;

Wii: Impossible to stay in first and items flying everywhere
MK8: Almost invincible in first place and comebacks are few and far between because of item speed nerfs (mushrooms and stars)

Also I hate how MK8 nerfed the flexibility of gliders and how items interacted with it, it's very stiff and just feels like an automated section rather than actually flying. And MK8's new tracks are beautiful but pretty one dimensional in comparison to others. (MK7's Rainbow Road was almost perfect) MK8 also has lots of carbon copies of vehicle parts and the hidden stats aren't as strategical. MK7 felt like the most fair and balanced Mario Kart and it was rare a time that I felt I lost because of items screwing me over.

It seemed that every time I played MK7 I got blue-shelled on the 3rd lap just a little before the finish line (when it's impossible to recover) so many different times. I stopped playing the game when it happened to me literally 3 races in a row. Maybe I just got extremely unlucky but getting blue-shelled on the 3rd lap in general happened so often.

Gah Funky annoyed me so much- he was my least favorite character in the game.
