So...is it known that Roy, among very few others can jump cancel into any special on the ground without leaving it, not just upB?
You're not actually jump cancelling them.

Similar to how you can do this with shine (see: multishine), you can use a move with "stall" the first frame you are airborne and you will stay on the ground. Roy's Side B and Down B happen to both have stall on them so his specials make him not leave the ground when he uses them on his first airborne frame. (It makes side B out of shield a viable option for him [frame 10] although not many people use it surpisingly enough.)

Here's a build I threw together, I'll explain parts:

CPU: chose the i5 4690k because of its amazing performance, second best processor on the market for emulation and will destroy everything you throw at it, pc games, streaming, netplay doubles.

Motherboard: Z97 so if your hardware gets old in a couple years you can overclock your CPU for performs gains, is also upgradable to 5th Intel processors without a motherboard swap. Gpus are always upgradable.

Memory: 8gb for streaming/pc gaming

Storage: 1tb hard drive for dirt cheap

Video card: 750 ti will do good resolution in almost anything, amazing price/performance, cheap, and small form factor.

Case: It's a beautiful case, roomy, and pretty cheap.

Power supply: 500w bronze so you have enough power to upgrade if you wanted to.

Optical drive: just included it cause most noobs panic trying to install Windows via USB instead of disc, feel free to remove it.

Notes:

This should do everything you want it to do for years. Streaming would be no problem. I know it's a little over budget but it's worth it for the 4690k over the G3258 especially for streaming.

About your upgrade questions the motherboard usually limits the CPU. You can only upgrade your CPU to the same socket as your motherboard. The Z97 is the newest one and it will support the 5th gen Intel core series which isn't even out yet so don't worry.

You have 2 extra RAM slots so you can add more ddr3 RAM if you want it. For a new graphics card you just take out the old one and stick in the new one, no worries about compatibility there.

By the way for Netplay I recommend you get a Nintendo Wii U Adapter or the Mayflash 4 port Wii U Adapter because they have native support in Dolphin meaning 0 input lag and precise controls. This feature is only in the newest builds of Dolphin which don't support Wii netplay yet but it's worth getting one of those for when it does since you need an adapter anyways.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
wtf

this is far cheaper than my computer that is worse in every way
the messed up part is i know exactly why this is the case

Played some more F-Zero GX today. Decided to go with the Night Thunder: a machine with one of the strongest boosters in the game, yet it's also one of the worst handling machines. It went as you expect. Like, damn. I don't know how to explain how utterly ass this machine's handling is to people who don't play.

It's got the turning radius of a barge and when you use the trigger airbrakes to turn turn harder it starts skidding. If you use the boost it skids all over the place and if you hit a wall it bounces off and skids making you hit the wall like 4 times in a row and dropping your speed to nothing. The terrible turning radius also means that you better hope the road is clear before you hit the boost because this thing cannot get around traffic at high speeds.

In X the NT was like the second best ship in the game because low grip meant you could do a very powerful AT called "sliding". Now it's just...bad. If you're a god at GX it's really good, but for anyone else it's terrible.

So Amiibos don't get smarter (like Nintendo could possibly program that) so much as they get overpowered.

Kind of cheapens the whole thing.

If the highest difficulty CPU is pretty crappy, then I guess it wouldn't make sense that the Amiibo version would be any better.

If it actually was that would mean Nintendo intentionally made the gameplay worse for their plastic toy money which is infinitely worse than overselling their abilities. They are collectables first and foremost after all.

I need to practice stuff in lag more. I can do shiz offline, but online I end up shadowboxing.

Anyway, Smash is going to expand on twitch, but is in danger of contracting hard on Youtube, and it will be Nintnedo's fault.

I have just come up with stats for a hypothetical game engine only to realize that several of them are completely superfluous. This is why I'm not a game designer. I'm also not a game designer because my response to this was to then immediately add a few more stats to balance things out. What am I doing >_<

I hope that doesn't happen, because Twitch is laggy as hell for me but Youtube works fine.

Given nintendo's ****ty stance on Lets plays, I was quite confused when I saw people seeking their sponsorship for Smash.

I'm not sure why you'd want that kind of support.

I like talking about this stuff, I spend a lot of time thinking about and studying game mechanics
