Fr those interested, the idea was a platform fighter with a smidge of TFG splashed in based around music. Each fighter would be based on a style of music. Examples are a Rocker, Heavy Metal, Classical, Jazz, Swing, an IC-Esque Dance duo, etc

a Hip Hop based character that relies heavily on mix-ups and can steal opponents moves would be mad fun

Is it dumb to play Kirby instead of just playing my main for the Falco ditto cause double laser is just too legit?

According to @Umbreon I think Mario beats Marth, Umbreon thought so in 3.02 anyway (MU probably hasn't changed much except for damage nerfs + recovery nerf). Doesn't Sheik do well?

I think Diddy wins 60/40 but its not easy because you should always die in one grab, and never make it back to the ledge unless you can recovery high and platform cancel on top platform

According to Axe Pika wins vs Marth 65/35 (In melee, could only get better in pm) because you can rush him down so hard, easy combos, and gimp him easy, but again Pikachu is so hard to play optimally you can't really pocket him as a counterpick

Marth isn't really a character that gets ran over, even the MU's he loses should be hard for the opponent because good marths.

Idk anything about kirby/falco, other than doing it for double lasers isn't worth it unless you're camping/going for timeouts. Ledge jump triple laser man.

I think it's pretty weird how PM didn't make R.O.B. into a proper spacie despite being a Star Fox character.

I guess Marth is just a pain in the ass. The hard part about Melee is not having the L-cancel flash. I keep getting invited to little fests of 4-5 super free highschoolers (lol SpiderMad) and have to relearn my tech mid match after only playing For Glory for a week. It takes me 4 games in to realize I'm missing L-cancels.

@ Player -0 they told me that they haven't been inviting you because you are dark, mysterious, and nobody knows you.

I wonder if creating a Melee or games club is worth it compared to finding a real venue and TOing so I can have actually good people. I think I need to attend some big Clemson tournaments before I even think about this. Then there is the one kid at my HS who isn't actually that free and is going to Evo to get destroyed >.>

i mean, did you not see m2k vs sethlon at apex?

roy's dair is now a spike, and he had a lot of hitbox tweaks
marth is pretty much melee now

Whenever I'm faced with a Marth I usually switch to Young Link in Melee, and Toon Link/Roy in PM. Marth's mobility may be High Tier, but most Marths I know around here break when they're faced with the 3 different projectiles I can dish out. It's not like Marth vs. Mario, Luigi etc, where the projectiles come in slow and can be taken out with a Fair. He might get a bomb out of the way, but then he's hit over the head from a 'rang. After that, a Nair on Marth is pretty free, and you can keep him in the air for days.

Edit: Marth vs. Roy on a non-Sethlon level still feels somewhat skewed toward Marth imo. It's kind of a game of constantly trying to get Marth to wiff a FSmash or Utilt, and punishing the lag with Roy's combo potential. However, Marth can still grab in so many situations. After that, he chaingrab/juggle you to high percents, and rely on the fact that Roy's recovery distance is still pretty meh.

mario isnt nearly as threatening and marth can actually kill him with the recovery nerf. thats pretty much it.

It's funny how our muscle memory/visual cues work with this stuff; as in having played Melee first you don't have this problem to an extent. Though Mango even commented he never misses L-cancels in PM, though we don't know what that goes to mean.

I only got to own my casual friends on an HDTV, my cousin(s) didn't have their Melee disc every time throughout the years I'd be over, and my one friend had one that super lagged beyond reason unplayable so we just ate pizza and talked (oh and one time a guy brought a set-up and controllers to the school, but his controller was garbage). I missed all my few chances I had, your young and have thousands of these noobs out there to own. I just wish I was 16 and could transport to these hundred entrant school tournies and win the recognition I deserve.

Is there a feasible way to alter a characters moveset data within what costume they are wearing, beyond just that strange little glitch? Say I wanted "Doc" Mario to have the Melee reverse down tilt, or reverse power nair, could I feasibly have two Marios load into the match with minor discrepancies in action based on what costume they are using?

How often do you come to Chicago? I just went to E2C11 there and met this guy, SK1, I think it was, who said he'd met you at a tournament before. I'd love to play some friendlies with you sometime if you're in the area. I spent like an hour at that tournament showing people your early aerials and teaching one of my friends how to do some of them.
