BibleThumpOh hey, I failed math again, for the 3rd time.
haha
this is funny
I mean, you wouldnt have been wrong....I play Smash too much. I almost said "I main Math" instead of "I major in Math". ._.
Also, I'd like to remind everyone that they have a booth, not a bracket. There's a huge difference. They're nowhere near what PM's status would have been at Apex. SSF2 did not replace PM.Hopefully I won't have to explain this more than once and people will help me out lmao:
There are ground rules and good judgement put to work. We don't slap characters together and throw a big mess out.
Anime characters, which (obviously) are the majority of the hate-mongers, are in because SSF1 had them, and back when SSF2 was a direct sequel, the game basically sucked up all of the SSF1 characters and added more to them. Quite a few updates were done and quite a few characters added before an actual team formed, and once we had an actual team the direction of the game was modified heavily. At that point though, as any game developer has to do, we assessed our target audience.
One of the reasons why SSF1 was so popular actually were the anime fans. To dangle forbidden fruit in their face and then rip it out of the game after multiple releases would alienate our current fanbase in order to appeal to a new fanbase, and that is probably one of the worst things anyone creating a work to be widely enjoyed can do.
So, to meet in the middle, anime/manga characters in our planned roster were SUPER cut down. Basically the ones that were already done were just polished instead, and we've gone to extreme lengths to make them feel at home in a Smash engine and bring unique playstyles to the table. And for those looking for a more realistic Smash roster, we've added not only underdogs such as Chibi-Robo, but also the big players such as Isaac that everyone's been craving.
Our rule is that potential characters must have appeared on a Nintendo console for a major release. Don't get us wrong - this is still a Nintendo beat-em-up, but our rules are a little less restrictive is all. That rule coupled with good judgement has made our roster into something I'm VERY proud of, and I can't wait for everyone to see everything else.
The idea of a "4th party" is something completely invented by the Smash fandom, anyway. 2nd party characters are characters made in-house or in-partnership by Nintendo, 3rd party are licensed characters. Even the off-the-wall characters still fall under 3rd party, and are definitely still being kept to a reasonable level, less than half in the public release iirc and that's not even considering what the full roster looks like.
this looks like a big angry rant tho <3 but <3
Three words: Goku, Naruto, Ichigo. People despise anything anime-related.Wait, people hate super smash flash? uhh... why? what harm has that game done to anyone? lol I mean, I don't particularly like it, but if other people do, good for them!
Why does the gaming community hate fan art (in video game form)?
There are tricks to do that with in XPadder and Joy2Key that the devs recommend.I actually played Super SMash Flash 2 with my GC controller not to long ago.
For a game that tries to replicate brawl, it's missing a bunch of nuances that would really make it feel better.
The fact that there isnt a controller input option for [Up] and [Tilted Up] so you can do Utilts with Tap jump makes me a sad Neko.
I mean, I can understand not liking it completely, but I don't get why they would do anything other than ignore it if they don't. It'd be like someone offering you free food, and then you laugh at them and insult them because the mashed potatoes were too salty. Like, unless you get food poisoning stfu. Also, keep in mind, constructive criticism is different from mocking. If it were a game people payed for and there was something like false advertisment, ****ty drm, henious micro transactions etc. then absolutely, flame them.Three words: Goku, Naruto, Ichigo. People despise anything anime-related.
They do have unique playstyles, however. Goku utilizes Peach's float mechanic to chase down opponents, and has a risky-but-effective transformation in the Kaio-Ken. Naruto is a zoning master that can get an opponent wherever he wants them to be. And Ichigo is a terrifying Lightning Bruiser and, although he has a high attack startup, he can make up for it by utilizing his pseudo-wavedash.
I co-main Math and Physics, so to speak. Almost said Marth....I play Smash too much. I almost said "I main Math" instead of "I major in Math". ._.
Imo it's suboptimal to play Smash Flash with anything but your keyboard. There's no analog controls on the game, so there's no reason to pretend there is by forcing yourself to use a controller.I actually played Super SMash Flash 2 with my GC controller not to long ago.

GC controllers are currently enforced in SSF2 tournaments. An official ruling by the Backroom has stated that there's too much potential for confusion and/or cheating/accidents by using a keyboard locally.Imo it's suboptimal to play Smash Flash with anything but your keyboard. Crouch cancelled dashes are amazing in SSF2, and they're easy easier with a keyboard.
They do it because it's anime. The internet collectively decided that anyone they deem a weeaboo must suffer. 9_9I mean, I can understand not liking it completely, but I don't get why they would do anything other than ignore it if they don't. This response is also partially due to pent up frustration at people doing the same thing to PM.
r-p-s tourneys are ****ing intense, though i can't say i quite expected one to pop up at a smash tourney : o

why am i enjoying this.
Huh? From what I've seen, the internet LOVES anime. I mean, I generally hate anime, but you won't see me in anime forums telling everyone that they have **** tastes, or whatever. They do it because it's anime. The internet collectively decided that anyone they deem a weeaboo must suffer. 9_9
And the people who do that to PM feel that modding Brawl to be closer to Melee is a personal attack on their preferred game. An "it's fine as it is. keep your filthy no-fun-allowed hands off of it" kind of thing. Definitely a similar mindset.
I envy your tune-out-ing ability.Huh? From what I've seen, the internet LOVES anime. I mean, I generally hate anime, but you won't see me in anime forums telling everyone that they have **** tastes, or whatever.
I don't really get that mindset. It really seems to be a console thing too. No one was like "Gary's Mod is terrible, you should play half-life as it is!!!!!11!1" I don't understand why they don't just have the thought "well, they aren't hurting anything so who gives a **** what they like?" It's like going to deviantart or some **** and seeing a fan art like this http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/327/d/c/smash__by_robaato-d81fcwi.png and saying "THE ART IN SMASH IS FINE AS IS WHY WOULD YOU MAKE SOMETHING SO TERRIBLE! YOU CAN'T EVEN DRAW! WHAT YOU THINK BECAUSE YOU PLAYED SMASH THAT YOU ARE AN ARTIST NOW?! ALSO YOU ****ing just....
Sorry, I can't help but tune **** like that out even when I'm saying it
I think it has to do with the fact that a very vocal portion of the internet loves anime, but at the same time those sites that allow us to view anime/manga are very much in their own little realm of the interwebs, linked outside by the video gaming/comic communities. A lot of people that may be far outside of that field of interest still play Smash Bros, which in itself references very little anime-like material. The likes of Marth and Ike only reference any said inpiration in subtle artstyle quirks, being relatively normal fictional badasses otherwise. TBH, a lot of people who may know zip about anime still view it through hostile eyes, and if they see any immediate anime material (Naruto, Goku, etc.) They for some reason feel inclined to be whiny assholes over it. (I know, it's ****ing stupid. That's the scientific term for it.)Huh? From what I've seen, the internet LOVES anime. Why has nobody responded to this? Stealth games are the ****!So, I just played Mark of the Ninja through the main campaign. **** was awesome, I honestly didn't think I'd like it but now I wantz moar. STEALTH GAME RECOMMENDATION/REVIEW SOCIAL THREAD ACTIVATED.
What are the best stealth games that you feel genuinely put you in a position of weakness while emphasizing staying silent/hidden first and foremost? WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND PEOPLE SHOW THEIR 1337 HAX0R/ N1NJ4 SKILLS?
And as more characters were added, that sentiment has increased. I see a ton of flames towards - even are getting some hate for the same reasons now. You heard about Mariotehplumber's revenge Amiibo hoarding? He targets them due to his monomaniacal hatred of "hentai" as he likes to call them.I think it has to do with the fact that a very vocal portion of the internet loves anime, but at the same time those sites that allow us to view anime/manga are very much in their own little realm of the interwebs, linked outside by the video gaming/comic communities. It's actually a crime against humanity that you didn't bring up Deus Ex in this post. An elite UNATCO team is en route to your location as I type this. Why has nobody responded to this? Stealth games are the ****!
Mark of the Ninja is probably one of my favorite games. I personally really didn't like Skyrim's stealth mechanics and found them lacking. If you haven't played FC3 or FC4 and enjoy FPSes, they'd be worth checking out, as they have some decent stealth opportunities - but not on the level of MotN by far.
The best stealth game I've played besides MotN, though, would be Dishonored. I thought this game was fantastic, and there are so many ways you can play through it to challenge yourself. I've probably beaten the game 3 or 4 times. Though I wouldn't say it's terribly difficult, it's enough of a challenge to be a fun game. Without extra challenges, there are still 2 endings, kind of a binary good ending vs bad ending that depends on how lethal you are. Lethality obviously makes the game easier, but the options are still so fun that the ease is compensated for, in my opinion.
Beyond that, there are the Ghost, Clean Hands, and Mostly Flesh and Steel achievements, which are what my last playthrough comprised of. Ghost means you are never detected throughout the entire game, which is a pretty good challenge all on it's own. Clean Hands means you never kill anyone in the entire game. But Mostly Flesh and Steel means that you never purchase any supernatural powers besides Blink, which is a short teleport that you have to get as a part of the story. That means you have to get a lot more creative with the ways you get through each level, especially towards the end of the game. At one section, instead of stealthing my way through a large building, I realized I could climb up to the top of an adjacent building, teleport to a bit of the larger one, and them from there make my way to the top of that roof, then drop down through the ceiling to get to my target. Definitely would recommend, and I've heard the DLC is also very worthwhile.
Deus Ex is a fantastic example, yes, but I kind of hesitate to recommend it to people trying to get into more stealth games because of the amount of work it can take to get it running, and a lot of people have trouble looking past how bad it looks without going through even more work. It's actually a crime against humanity that you didn't bring up Deus Ex in this post. But seriously, 15 years after the fact and it's lauded as one of the greatest PC games of all time. If you haven't played it, @ Raccoon Chuck you owe it to yourself to check out this game. Human Revolution is also super good and definitely worth getting as well. There's two other games in the series as well but they don't quite hold up (Invisible War was met with mixed reactions, it's probably best to pretend The Fall never happened).
feel free to let me know what we're missing so i can add it to the to-doI actually played Super SMash Flash 2 with my GC controller not to long ago.

They addressed that issue with the boss battles in the Director's Cut version. You have more options for those now.Deus Ex is a fantastic example, yes, but I kind of hesitate to recommend it to people trying to get into more stealth games because of the amount of work it can take to get it running, and a lot of people have trouble looking past how bad it looks without going through even more work.
HR is a good game, but it is not a good stealth game. It is almost a good stealth game, but trying to do a stealth playthrough will **** you up the ***. They try to make it so you can go guns blazing or be sneaky stealthy and nonlethal, but all of the boss battles require you to have ridiculous firepower, and if you're trying to go nonlethal and and stealth and only use takedowns and darts, well, you're just completely ****ed when the boss battle comes unless you know beforehand that you'd better pick up a damn chaingun before walking into this room. That's really ****ty design, and breaks what, for me, was an otherwise great game.
Captain Falcon is the true hero of anime. Why?And as more characters were added, that sentiment has increased. I see a ton of flames towards - even are getting some hate for the same reasons now. You heard about Mariotehplumber's revenge Amiibo hoarding? He targets them due to his monomaniacal hatred of "hentai" as he likes to call them.
(And in the meantime, laugh in the distance.)
you're a ****ing liar >: CI'd also like to point out that what's exploding is Black Shadow's reactor AND NOT' in fact, the Falcon Punch
This can't be good news for the children.i start working today at a game shop, also the place where we host our free weeklies
