Naw i understand the match up cause i know a few people who play peach and luigi is my general pick against that character in particular, but my connection isn't the best in the world and i know i can't really play in delay cause it completely destroys any sense of timing i had in the first place. Tho that just seems to be my issue in general is knowing the timing between potential strings and the spacing to properly execute said strings. I know how to tech and cancel and i've been practicing my wavedashing but i don't quite know how to utilize them properly yet and lag just makes it all the worse for me. The SD are almost always a result of my earnest in wanting to get the meteor smash and unfortunately this all to often leads to input error on my side and i wind up hurting myself instead of helping myself. however playing at night almost always has a negative effect on me as well. Im a day person it's who i am. I've never been able to perform well at night cause im just to tired to do anything at that point. S!@# tho man i couldn't even get a single win that night. i'd get close but F!@# F!@#$% GG tho guys
It's ok. I was awful due to the button delay. But then I picked up on it and finally found a way to go about my business, performing typical techniques and whatnot. Having the buffer on seems to help. You can toggle it in the match settings found by clicking the top of the character selection screen.
But just when I got used to the timing, I decide to buy a new HD TV since the old square boxy one was getting very blurry. And of course I didn't even know game mode was a thing, so I am stuck with a 200 dollar TV that gives me frame delay. Now I am irrevocably screwed against players who can perform techs or move fast but only online since in person = they can't tech either. IMO this simpler way of playing is really refreshing and there's no sense of crushing urgency. I think I can perform some techs but online it's too hazardous.
THANKFULLY Zeldoo and Peesh aren't tech heavy but now I have to really read and hope I don't push the buttons incorrectly if I play online.
TLDR = you'll be fine. Just keep practicing online and you'll get it. I recommend playing exclusively on final destination for a while. I'll play passive aggressively if you want a nonAI punching bag. All should go well... Unless you have a nongaming HD TV then just give up on higher gameplay and play with basics. :D
