Here are the updated files. They're not in the OP because they're buggy. M2 can dash dance, but can't actually dash normally - he just settles into his walking animation. He also has a different (very cool) downB, with a slight side effect of falling through the stage if he doesn't jump out of it.

Not to be too far-out... given Mewtwo should be epic amounts of unique...
...It would be freaking cool if Mewtwo didn't HAVE a Dash, and his Walk-Speed was just really high, and looked like a Dash.
Dash-Attack then becoming something only available from his initial Dash Dance animation, settling into a Dash-Walk after. Walking allowing him to do all normal attacks at near-dash speeds (near dash since he wouldn't be fast anyway)
With his momentum and maneuvers based around WD + Up-B, it wouldn't take anything away anyway or add too much, but a quirky trait that makes him go 'I don't need no Dash, I fly'

Thought?

Well, I like it, so long as there's no problem with activating the walk in the same way as a dash.

That's what it sounds like by what Kally Wally posted.

Dash Dance > Walk if continuing the Dash without Dancing.

Who Dashes beyond the initial Dash animation that much (ESPECIALLY Mewtwo) anyway?
Not gonna Dash very far before Dash-Attacking either, especially with Mewtwo if he retains much distance Melee-style-DA with it.

I might have to do this if I can't manage to fix the dash. I think i know what's wrong, but i don't know how to fix it...

Well, Sonic usually can. lol

Mewtwo definitely doesn't need the properties of dashing. It's an easy fix to the problem. I wouldn't worry if that's the route you want to take, Nguz.

That's what I was thinking initially, but it really just doesn't make sense to give him a Dash at all anyway.
Really, the ONLY reason to give him a Dash, is 'because everyone else has one' and it's normal.
I don't know why else he would 'need' one to be functional, and I don't really know why having one would make him more 'Mewtwo' in style either.

Edit: Flavor is good.

I don't think I can compete with this. It might be time to close this project down. With college applications due at the same time demo 3.0 comes out, I don't think I can finish this in time to beat the PMBR. From the looks of it side-b is actually Anonistry's grappler move. Down-b looks to be actually useful (broken even), and their animations are beyond anything I could do on my own. I don't know guys, it might be over for my Mewtwo.

It looks like they took a good amount of inspiration from this, at least. Now you've got free time and Mewtwo!

As Kally said, though, it was a good run. Nothing short of it.

Don't feel bad man. You've learned a lot from this project and now anything you start after this will be greater because of it.

Let's not turn this into a eulogy thread lol.

Lol that's what I was thinking. I've said it before, but I only started this so I could learn PSA and Brawl Box. Thanks for all your support guys!

NGuz, just remember this one invariable truth. You hath given us Mewtwo in a once Mewtwoless realm, and gave us the morsel upon which our pitiful, broken bodies were able to feast upon. You have not only kept our sanity, but gained skills in the land of PSA editing, which as many above me have stated, stirs excitement for whatever inspiration you stumble upon next.

You still have until Winder 2013

I don't want to sound negative and I hope I'm wrong, but I don't even think the PMBR will release 3.0 on time and it won't be released until later.

Like I said I hope I'm straight up wrong and they could get it out earlier, but that's being greedy hahaa!

I... err... wow. Figured it was about safe to see if the forums were back up. See front page. See Mewtwo. Check this thread. And... yep. Almost feels surreal, in an odd sort of way.

Perhaps you could release your own before then, perhaps not, but... I'll admit, in my position, I'd just call it quits. It feels much less purposeful to create something when that particular void is filled officially later. All I can say is... I am happy to have been a part of this. And I am very happy to hear that you have taken so much from this! Its good to know it had a lasting positive influence.

... Still feels weird. Just the sheer whammy that was me seeing it on the frontpage AS I was coming to check on Project Mewtwo...

Well one suggestion would be maybe quitting on mewtwo and start on a character that they will never release, that would be pretty cool...

Yeah, and I assume you wanted to do something like that anyway if you were creating Mewtwo to teach yourself. Not sure what you'd be looking to do (if you're even considering starting now, since I know you'll be busy), but if anything, I'd recommend the next newcomer for SSB4, since it gives you a base to start from and he/she/it will probably be pretty popular with these crowds. I'd say Mega Man or Villager, but there are already people way into those projects, even though they're not for P:M.

Oh, or you could talk to them on BrawlVault and see if you could make a P:M version if you wanted to!

Those are cool ideas. I'd be happy lo took into them when I finish with my college applications. I especially like the Mega Man idea. Maybe a Zero PSA is in order...

College apps can be pretty cruel. Don't rush!

Personally, I really hope someone makes P:M Mega Man eventually. SouthCraft (the guy from BV for MM) really knows his stuff. I'll post a preview when he makes it. It should be a lot of fun to use.

Zero has a new PSA coming out, too, but I don't know when. The best-sounding one IMO is in the SSB Fusion thread there.

If you enjoy PSA and Brawlbox, definitely keep practicing and working on new projects. Another member of the PMBR recently brought this thread to my attention, and I was surprised to see that a lot of your ideas, though different in execution, were similar in spirit to things we were doing with Mewtwo.

That's pretty awesome! I noticed that there was a remarkable number of changes that gave Mewtwo the playstyle the people here had been talking about in this thread. I'm glad you guys were able to see this and maybe use the ideas in some fashion.

It goes to show, Nguz: You've got a knack for making characters. :shades:

Thank you very much. I know my project was rather clumsy, but I hope to someday be able to create animations at your level. Then I feel I will be able to apply to the PMBR. For now, I'll keep on working.

Clumsy? Excuse me, but please give me a personal note when you make something that you consider to be well past "clumsy", because this "clumsy" work was, as far as I and I suspect several others, brilliant. So what, it may have still had rough to polish, and more ideas to explore? Surprise, you were one guy doing all of this work, as well as you were, as a learning experience. I am firmly convinced that what you did here was a giant inspiration for others who may have such ideas, and a fantastic effort, and it was honestly a bit of an honor to be a part of it. So yeah, I can wait to see you progress from "clumsy", because I am sure the community as a whole will benefit immensely from it.

And before anyone asks, I am aware this sounds a bit gushy. I just felt that post came across as needlessly harsh and self-critical. It is respectable that you acknowledge there is more to learn and don't inflate your ego, but that doesn't mean you haven't earned some mad props for what you have done. I can't say I have seen many other examples of someone going out, on their own initiative, and making a character like this, even if it may have previous history and groundwork, while also determining unique mechanics to imrpove it, AND doing so for a mod that introduces its own ball game to make it fit into. I am eager to see this official Mewtwo in action, but I know that, whatever your finished product would have been, it would have been a permanent member on my roster were the crew unable to make this Mewtwo.

^ This. The whole time you were learning, and we understood that, but you accomplished a lot in the end. I'm sure people will be sticking around to see what else eventually springs up.

My smash buddy uses your Mewtwo pretty much exclusively. We're both hype for 3.0 - him because M2 looks slick as hell, me because I'll finally be able to play Lucario again - but this mod has been great for him. We will always fondly remember you as Mewtwo Guy.

However, shadow claw will not be missed. Seriously I ****ing hate that move.

Oh ****ing hell, not shadow claw, the other one. Ftilt. That's the awful one. Shadow claw is perfectly fine.

Lol I made that move waaaaay too good. It clanked basically every projectile. I took Luigi's ftilt hitboxes and made them huge, so the move basically took up 2 or 3 character lengths.

You mean it was able to be angled like most f-tilts in P:M? I didn't know that either... I'm gonna have to go back and try some things. I got really caught up with the PM:CE project over the past month or so that I haven't been able to really play much of anything.

Something with that sort of range sounds invincible!

I don't remember if I ever released it. You might have the version where the graphic is all wonky...

I've seen you're extension project, and I think it looks very nice. You've been doing a great job!

I think I might. lol

Thanks, although I can't take much credit! There is sooooooo much that we haven't shown yet, but we're all really busy, so we haven't had time to get our guys together to make a trailer or something. It's rolled up into a much bigger development now. We really can't wait to show it all off, but we're not ready yet...
