Wait let me get this straight. If I understand this correctly what this is saying is that this person believes the characters who are displayed as "Intruders who fight the Newcomer" do not receive any newcomers from their respective franchises?

So one could say that Kirby was intruding on Rosalina's video or Samus was intruding on Little Mac's video or, Link was intruding on Palutena's video or, Captain Falcon was intruding on Robin and Lucina's video, and because they are intruding it means that they will receive no newcomers from their respective franchises.

I guess that makes sense ...I mean we haven't seen Fox intrude on anyone yet but, the one flaw is that we have seen Mario intrude on Megaman and the Wii Fit trainer's videos and we got Rosalina to represent his franchise. Although I suppose Mario does make the exception since he is the most well known and they got to show him off for E3.

that stinks if it is true that Corocoro is revealing them all then you won't know. If Sakurai does do another smash direct then he will need to be announcing it soon if it would be before august 12th

CoroCoro pulled this exact same f***ing stunt with Brawl in December 2007, claiming that "their next issue will show all the characters," but then only showing the website's characters. I highly doubt this time will be any different.

It's just a ploy to sell copies. People who want to avoid spoilers, you're in the clear here.

But I'll be really annoyed if Sakurai reveals something when I'm there. Even more annoying being in NINTENDO LAND (As you say xD) and not being able to connect to the internet. And I'm sure Miyu has internet in her Interceptor Arwing

And talking about Miyu, wouldn't it be great to see new characters in the new StarFox game? It would be awesome if they add Miyu and Fay, though it's quite unlikely. Maybe Fara Phoenix? She is more likely since she is part of the StarFox universe (Miyu and Fay are from the canceled SF2, so it's like if they never existed)

Meh, I guess...I doubt Fara Phoenix or anyone else from the comics will make appearances in future Star Fox games outside of being mentioned in something like Fox's flashbacks.

To be honest, the French guy some of you are quoting is kinda confusing, not to mention that other people behind him explicitly say that he's just trying to convince himself that Krystal has good chances with the flimsiest of argument.

I'm French (so I speak it fluently, obviously), and I'd be hard-pressed to give you a very concise and crystal clear translation of his post because it's kinda weird.

Okay, so I found his initial theory. It basically goes like this :

"Did you realize that Pit and Pikachu make no apparition whatsoever in the trailers confirming newcomers? They only appear in trailers that reveal a newcomer coming from their own series. The same goes for Bowser, Luigi and Peach who only make an apparition in Rosalina's trailer.

On the other hand, those who appear (constantly) are Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Megaman, Sonic et Olimar (+ Mr G&W). [Then he explains that he's only talking about the trailer, not the fighting clips that arrive right after an animated scene]

To this day, Fox and Marth have yet to appear. [Then comes a very confusing sentence, even in French, that I will paraphrase]

Newcomers from veteran franchises in Smash (such as Kid Icarus and Pokémon) are accompanied by the hero of their series (Pit and Pikachu, respectively). However, Pit and Pikachu ONLY make an appearance in the trailer of the newcomer from their series. The guy tries to draw a parallel between the situations of Pit, Pikachu, Marth and Fox (Marth and Fox being the only lead characters of their series who have yet to appear in a trailer).

He then explains that he finds it suspicious that Pikachu only makes an appearance in Greninja's trailer and that Pit's only appearance was in Palutena's trailer. He adds that adding the total absence of Fox and Marth (who have been revealed for a looong while) might hint at a newcomer from their series.

He doesn't count Mario in his examples because he's kinda Nintendo's poster boy, but proves his point by showing that the less important Mario characters (Luigi Bowser Peach) do not appear more than once.

The rest of the message is basically an argument as to why Starfox isn't considered dead and that Krystal might have a chance and stuff like that, it's pretty boring to read and translate (not to mention that his style is rather perplexing).

I think his theory might hold water, but at the same time I don't think it's too relevant ? They might want to include as much different characters as possible in the trailers, but certain characters are just too important and appear several times (Mario, DK, Link, Samus).

Also, going by that train of thoughts, it means that DK has no newcomer.

Agreed. I think at this point, all we can take, from Monday, is that Star Fox having four reps isn't out of the question (after looking at what they did with Fire Emblem). It is also curious that Star Fox hasn't had any veterans (aside from Fox) nor any stages revealed.

Star Fox is the only franchise (besides Earthbound/Mother) that had multiple characters in past iterations of Smash, that is lacking a second character so far in Smash 4. This is taking into account everything revealed so far. Considering that fact along with Star Fox's lack of a stage appearance makes the franchise's current position in Smash 4 interesting, at the very least; the fact that both types of absences coexist.

If Star Fox lacked a second character while having a stage or two revealed, in the hypothetical/psychological sense, I would probably have thought Krystal's chances were nonexistent (not counting for the possibility of DLC). I might have even thought that Sakurai and his team were possibly even cutting some of Star Fox's representation from Smash Brothers. To make matters worse, I probably would have been demoting the idea of Star Fox having more characters because more content would have been known.

This isn't the case, though.

The impact of these facts on us are almost the complete opposite (and not in a desperate sense, but rather a curious one), which is what makes the issue interesting. Who knew one detail (Star Fox, especially this late in Smash 4's development, lacking both a second character and a stage [in the sense of these things being publicly revealed rather than assuming they aren't even made]) could entail so much more intrigue rather than distress or desperation? These occurrences, though they might seem simple to some, make me feel like they are doing something special for Star Fox. This is especially so after proving, with Robin's trailer, that having many characters (and thus general content for a franchise, including potential stages) in a single trailer is possible.

Though it probably does not mean much/anything for Smash 4, Miyamoto did say that 2015 will be the year of Star Fox...

The real truth of the matter is that people supporting/opposed to additional Star Fox representation cannot currently provide concrete evidence either way, however I have a feeling that speculation is going to become very interesting within the upcoming weeks...

I'll keep toying with these ideas every once in a while to see if I can come up with anything interesting.

At this point, all I have to say is: only time will tell, and tell soon, for many things.

Though I might consider this stretching it, the only possibly interesting thing I could make out of this smash taunt was that Krystal said it after Peppy and Slippy, almost-jokingly bashing them in the midst.

The other thing was Pit's trophy description in Melee, which at the end said "will he ever fight again?" Pit then appeared in Brawl, but it doesn't make it proof. It's only a connection, because Sakurai never stated that it was foreshadowing.

Then again, why would Sakurai tell us if he foreshadowed something in the past? That would render any future possible foreshadowing by him suspicious.

This way, if he does foreshadow things, they would slip past the radar of many Smash speculators.

After looking up more info on these special conversations in Brawl. I've found that Krystal's dialogue stays the same in both versions of the game. She never says anything different in the Japanese version as far as I know.

Anyway, I wonder what kind of surprise Sakurai has for StarFox hidden away in his magical sleeves? He'd better have a Krystal reveal video in one of those sleeves, so I can watch all the chaos her inclusion creates.

Sakurai is really unpredictable. I mean: Wii Fit Trainer and all the other WTF characters. And we learned that he's a troll master (Nintendo Direct: Ridley, Pseudo-Palutena, Samus Zero)

But I seriously think that this time he really "listened" to the fans. Obviously the Fan-Favourite characters will be the last to be revealed (Mewtwo? Ridley?)

But I'm optimistic about a StarFox Themed Trailer.
