Smash Lord
I loved KI:U, so I don't regret that it was made at all.I'm still split on that, it obviously would've been great if it was a Star Fox game but if that were the case Kid Icarus would still be dead without a game, unless someone else were to pick it up
Still, I worry that the people at Nintendo might feel it's filled a niche that Star Fox could've gone to and arguably already had stepped part way into... the rail shooter hybrid niche. Just because Kid Icarus is a thing again I don't think it means Star Fox can't explore a more successful formula in a similar fashion.
Reminds me, one of the things I'll miss most in Zero is the lack of on-foot stuff. Instead they opt to lock the characters up in vehicles the whole time pretty much putting up a barrier between us and the characters. Or only view of them being a little talking head in the corner. The game play just has less character as a result for me. There's so much they could do with that. There's a lot about KI that could work for Star Fox and when you think about it, an Assault evolution would have many of the same elements. The biggest thing being an interesting "off rails" portion that consists of at least half the gameplay.
