Well, does it make sense that a smaller series like Star Fox gets a number of characters on par with Nintendo's biggest series?
Sakurai explicitly stated about characters contributing to series balance.

Donkey Kong and Metroid should get newcomers before Star Fox gets. Star Fox already has the most important characters in, much like Kirby and Zelda.

Krystal has potential and can be unique? Yes.
Is she a strong contender for a potential 4th Star Fox character? Yes.
Should she get in before more important characters like Dixie Kong, King K. Rool, Ridley, Palutena and Little Mac? No.

If the roster is greatly expanded and all series get newcomers, Krystal is probably among them, but don't forget that Sakurai stated that he had reached a feasible limit on the number of newcomers and wanted to focus more on newer series, which hinders Krystal's chances.

The last remaining of the biggest stars from already represented series are Dixie Kong, K. Rool, Palutena and Ridley. These are on a way higher level than Krystal is, like it or not.

It's okay to like a character and I have nothing against Krystal, but let's be realistic. Krystal's chances aren't as high as you think they are.

I'd say Krystal's chances are 50/50. If there's another Star Fox character it will be her, no matter what the furry haters say, but another Star Fox Character would be unlikely. The Star Fox series has sold over 11 million games (in your face, Civilization!) but that's less than Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby and Nintendogs. (source)

I've already stated I used to support Krystal. Not to mention as Frostwraith said, there are characters that are much more popular than her at the moment.

The only characters that I care to get in are Ridley, K. Rool, Shulk, Mewtwo, Palutena, Roy/Chrom, and Lloyd Irving. That's about it. Each of them has something going for them. So it isn't like i'm making things up to make Krystal look bad.

I get what you're saying, but you have no way to prove that these things don't matter when picking characters either.

It's really not as big of a deal as you think it is, or else there's a lot of characters we wouldn't even be seeing, to be frank.

The only ones this time around that are even entitled to a newcomer are DK and Metroid and even then that's a stretch of the imagination. Most popular Smash candidates this time around, asides from poll results, are characters that quite frankly we haven't seen Sakurai show interest in.

See this is where you guys consistently are doing it wrong. Stop looking at the franchise itself and look at what the character itself. Do you think Sakurai went "Man, maybe I shouldn't add Wolf, you know because Kirby has three characters and DK only has two, despite outselling SF... Iunno man, this is a bad idea..."

No, because he thought Wolf, as a character, could bring something to Smash bros. Just like he could think Krystal, as a character could bring something to Smash bros. This is what I'm talking about when it comes to Smash speculator bull****.

Considering that Sakurai ditched her as the main villainess in Kid Icarus: Uprising by introducing Hades and fleshed Palutena out as a character, I HIGHLY doubt he would pick Medusa over Palutena for Smash.

By the way, Kid Icarus is not Sakurai's series, so the modesty argument may not apply. Sure, he made Kid Icarus: Uprising, but the series isn't his as whole.

And, before this goes off-topic about Ridley... I already said all I think about Krystal: I'm not against her inclusion, I'm aware of her potential, but I just don't believe she will make it in this game. I could be wrong, but only time will tell.

Krystal is by far my least liked character in the entire Star Fox mythos. Slippy is a better character. Bill Grey is a better character. PIGMA is a better character.
I've played Star Fox adventures and Assault and Command and I can say with complete and total confidence that Krystal doesn't belong in a smash bros game.

I don't give a rat's ass about furries. Everyone always goes on about Krystal using her precious stupid staff but in the only game where she has it she doesn't even use it (Fox does) and it becomes totally forgotten in the next game she's featured in.

I don't really know what figures you're referring to but if it's a poll saying X amount of people want her in the game I really could not care less. I'm willing to bet there are similar figures for Sora and Cloud. Fan input is entirely pointless and has little to do with the development of the actual game.

And let me tell you, Slippy gets WAYYYYYYYYYY more crap than she does.

Oh boy, look at the basics.

1. She exists as a fictional character
2. She's owned wholey by Nintendo
3. She's been in Nintendo games

Therefore, no matter what else, she has SOME chance of getting in. What's not realistic about that?

And what's this about personality? Does Pikachu have any complex character arc? Is Sonic a deep and interesting character? No. Are they good game characters? In my opinion, yes.

That and this is my Real Idea, I made this because I am a huge star fox fan in dire need of another game....



What I want from the star fox series
ALL SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED AND ALL NEW IDEAS.
The star fox series is imo nintendo’s franchise with the most interesting characters and story line and it has been quite a while since we have had a real entrance to the series. For Nintendo to bring this back they will have to make it a full experience todays audience will not be satisfied with a small 2 hour run of a game like we used to that’s why I think they should pull no punch when it comes to remaking star fox into a hit franchise.

First off the most important thing is to include the air missions that we all know and love, they will be included as well as the landmaster and submarine. There will always be a flight mission when moving between planets (this would not be required if you are travelling to a planet you have previously been to unless the story permitted it.) flight missions can also happen on the planets depending on the situation of the story, and of course there would be amazing boss battles for the flying segments, the space shooter parts are the core gameplay mechanic of the older games so its very important to get this right.
Also to note I would have the gameplay occur over the lylat system and maybe another system they somehow stumble upon, this would allow you to go to beloved old worlds you remember from 64 and find brand new ones.
Now the ground gameplay is what will be a huge factor in this game, the way I would like to see it implemented is in a mass effect sort of style where you pick 2 team members to come with you on the ground while 1 stays in the air with an airwing or a landmaster, It would just depend on the mission and the rest of your guys would stay in the Great fox. The Gunplay would be serious and very much like mass effect, there would be no real guns only futuristic ones to maintain the futuristic vibe, another important thing is the melee combat.
Besides the Gunplay the melee combat could be very bayonettaish or dmc ish where fox can perform various combos and techniques on an opponent in battle, they could turn this into an in depth combo system (fox could even grab a blocking opponent.) using brand new moves and even use moves from the various smash bros. games. Your squadmates would also have their various battle stats abilities and would help out in different ways on an individual basis including exclusive dialogue to each squadmate in every situation.
There would also be a money system where you can find money in hiddenspots or from defeating enemies or completing missions or various challenges. This money can be used to upgrade everything, you can upgrade all of your combat skills, armor, gunplay skills, arwing skills, landmaster skills, sub skills and even all of your squadmates various skills could be upgraded. Id also like to include an upgrade system for the Great Fox (idk how to implement it yet but I think it’s a good idea). Money could also buy better guns, and various unlockables.
Ground Missions would not only be combat, it would have its downtime where there might be various puzzles in the game or elements of exploration to change up the pace. There would also be great ground bosses as well as the ones you fight in air ships. There would also be plenty of secrets to find for those who look well enough.
I feel the campaign needs to be pretty long (20 hours or more) and it needs to have a really good story, Nintendo needs try to make it the most serious story in their arsenal of great games. I feel there should be a lot of positions changed such as peppy getting general peppers job and there being a new star fox member, various new elements like that. I feel after you beat the star fox campaign you should unlock the star wolf campaign which is an entirely new campaign that is completely its own story where you play as wolf and find out the parts they play in the campaign and when you beat that story you unlock the final campaign that has the true ending.
I think that the campaign should also offer a co op mode where a person with the wii u gamepad can play as a team mate by looking at the pads screen, they could be there during every battle in the air or on the ground. There should also be a standard multiplayer mode where you can fight each other, ai’s in a various number of deathmatch on ground or in the air, that could even include racing to get to your airwing, this needs to be on and offline with several unlockable stages and characters and maybe even colors.
Another Mode that should be in the game besides campaign is a mission mode where you can complete various challenges thrown at you, by completing these you can unlock secrets and unlockables, there will also be leaderboards for all competitive things.
There will also be a “Unlockable” spot on the menu where u can look at all of your unlocked secrets and see how many you have left, the more secrets you unlock the more hints are given to unlock other secrets in this menu, this is the main place to access your unlockables as well.
There will also be a classic training mode for the new member of the star fox team so you can learn all of the controls just like you could in 64.

These are just some of the things I would love to see from a new Star fox game, I would love to hear your guys thoughts on the matter or maybe some cool ideas for it.
