The real question is:

Is Nintendo holding a conference at the event? If they are, then I could see something smash related being shown, but if not, then we're getting SSDCC Part 2.

Still, the odds heavily lean toward us not getting any news.

And this is coming from someone who thought there was a decent chance they'd reveal a veteran at Comicon.

So gamescom is gonna have something I mean really sdcc wasn't all eyes on them (more towards other things) plus comicon and gamescom are diffrent

I could imagine Fox and Falco simply flying through a desolated planet, and when something comes up on Radar, Ridley flies through them and faces them from the opposite side while the two of them to All-Range mode. Soon, we see Ridley roar and flex his wings, and then the paint comes in-

After, we see Ridley charge the two pilots with his wings extended outward- Fox and Falco avoid it and fly around Ridley. They begin to shoot at him and inflict pretty significant damage. Ridley flies away for a brief moment and it seems the battle has ended. Fox and Falco park their arwings on the ground and begin to scan the area. While they move away from their ships, a blast comes from the clouds and destroys both of their ships. Confused, the two look up and see Ridley re-approach them with a Wolfen following him. Wolf is shown in the cockpit and says, "Your time is up now, Star Fox!"

Ridley and the Wolfen begin to attack the ground that Fox and Falco are on, and both do their best to avoid the onslaught and fight back. Pretty soon, we see Fox his close his eyes and say, "I need you. Now."

After this point, it looks like this fight will be over. Both are injured on the ground, vulnerable to anything. Wolf orders his new comrade to finish them off, and Ridley begins to charge a powerful attack. As Ridley is ready to shoot his final attack, a series of green laser shots strike both Ridley, and the Wolfen. Each of the two plummet to the ground.

Ridley lands in an awkward position, signaling that he's been hit hard. Wolf ejects himself from the Wolfen, and also takes a hard landing. Fox and Falco hold their blasters up to both of their injured foes, and look up. Another Arwing comes in, and the main theme of Star Fox plays along with it's entry. We hear a familiar voice come from the Arwing and it says, "Well, it seems like you two have a lot on your hands."

The Arwing lands and a figure ejects itself from the cockpit, and lands in front of the 4 fighters. Fox looks up and smiles, "You finally made it." The camera pans to Ridley, who stands up and roars at everyone. Then the camera flashes over to our next new fighter: Krystal. She looks at the furious Ridley, smirks, and draws her staff. At this moment, the paint appears--

"KRYSTAL ANSWERS THE CALL!!"

Well guys these days still the 17th (that's when gamescom ends) is for all the glory we can either end up double or nothing so if we don't get info at gamescom or the star fox command anniversary....let's just say she'd be hidden so at this point where almost at the top of the summit.

Oh come on now, there's always a (slim) chance of another direct with her trailer.

I don't see us getting a newcomer in a POTD unless we are told in advance from this point on. (Like with Lucina/Robin)

I think we're gonna get ganondorf on friday cause of hyrule warriors (and why else would he reveal meta knight on a wednesday?)
I'm pretty sure we're getting a newcomer very soon but whether krystal is it we'll have to wait and see

Veteran confirmation has nothing to do with new-comers.

If there is Nintendo Direct coming soon and if there is a new-comer other than Krystal then it might affect her only by little by taking up a slot for new-comer and possibly the last trailer. I hope the last trailer doesn't mean it will be the last new-comer we get.

Well, not necessarily. Lucina seems to be a fluke, and every other trailer's revealed only one newcomer. I could possibly see two newcomers in the final trailer before release, especially if it's a "villains" trailer like people are speculating.

Newcomer trailers, not newcomers overall. I'm willing to bet we'll get one more trailer by the end of the month, and then there'll be a few secret newcomers that don't get a trailer. Brawl had 4 that would've been secret had they not been leaked, so it's pretty likely.

And honestly, I think if Krystal is in she'd be one of them. Her inclusion wouldn't set off the same insane amount of hype as a reveal of, say, Ridley or Shulk.

Newcomer trailers, not newcomers overall. I'm willing to bet we'll get one more trailer by the end of the month, and then there'll be a few secret newcomers that don't get a trailer. Brawl had 4 that would've been secret had they not been leaked, so it's pretty likely.

Yeah all star fox characters are usually hidden....ridley I could see at gamescom happening...and I will not comment on shulk cause holy crap why do people think he's gonna be announced...

Krystal currently occupies a limbo where she's not a highly anticipated addition but she has yet to be disconfirmed which makes her come out ahead. Then again we've hardly had any Star Fox content so it's hard to say.

Tell me about it. I curious as to why Sakurai hasn't revealed any more information on the new Star Fox stage. It makes me feel that he's hiding something big for Star Fox, or he's just likes watching his fans beg for info on the game. Seriously though Sakurai should consider revealing the rest of the newcomer trailers soon. I mean with the 3DS version releasing in Japan just around the corner he's running out of time. Also to be honest it looks like Sakurai has nothing planned in terms of new character reveals at Gamescom so far, but time will tell the complete answer to that question.
