Sonic got its fame from the sega genesis and sonic1 and 2 are the best sonic games. Dr Mario inn the game would make this the best leak so far if true tho this is what everyone wanted.

Well in the case if WFT and Robin, their voices change. They could add metallic sound effects.

BUT...that video seems off to me..how come when you change to MS, the name is still "Sonic"? Does that mean when you win with MS, the announcer will also call him Sonic? That's not something I see Sakurai doing, unless this is just a super early build that hasn't been changed. Idk, this leak seems fishy for a number of reasons, take it with a huge grain of salt.

Costumes like Male WFT don't do that for anyone and they don't do it in PM or other fighters (like if Zero dresses as Megaman in MVC) so its not conclusive evidence. It's a possibility but not any reason to think its fake. There are other reasons though...

Yeah, it's weird to have Metal Sonic or Alph as alts because they have different names. That's part of the reason why I thought Lucina got her own spot. Although, Peach's Daisy costume is kinda like that...

I like the design of the DHD and don't want to use the blurry picture from the leak, this looks much crisper, and still resembles the original leak's design. Also, I never said that the doc wasn't in, in fact, I tried to help prove the point in him existing earlier.

uh i don't. i really hate this leak for 3 reasons:

1. dr. mario and dark pit are clones! why would sakurai add more clones? wasn't toon link and lucina enough? seriously if this turns out to be true then sakurai has gotten lazy with his work. we don't need clones, we need new characters with new movesets.

2. bowser jr.- are you freaking kidding me? him? he has no representation in smash bros 4! paper mario is more of a worthy candidate for a mario slot. he even has his own stage in the game! bowser jr. isn't as important. he's in the same tier as the koopalings.

3. if this leak turns out to be true, then the mario franchise will have 7 fighters! that way more than pokemon in brawl and even now! that way too big for a single franchise. i say 5 is more than enough or maybe e ven six if paper mario gets it. but 7? thats just pushing too far.

It appears that the same holds true for the other portraits, it may just be to make the selected icons, or the icons being hovered over "pop" more.

Actually it makes a lot of sense to add Rosalina and Bowser Jr. as the newest Mario reps. They've both been in tons of different games lately and are pretty relevant.

OK, the icons of Kirby, and Pikachu slightly leak into the icons of other characters, however it appears as though Bowser Jr's does not, so... what if the light on the icons pulse light out causing them to spread out a bit larger as an animation?

Dude Sakarai said if the character has any differences they get thier own slot which means lucina isnt the only clone in the game but dr mario is by far the best in the smash series cuz everyone with skill uses him.

Look at it this way. It's very likely that Dr. Mario and Dark Pit were not initially intended to be characters period. They are both likely afterthought characters that serve to expand the roster slightly at exceedingly little cost. Heck, Sakurai outright said this was the case with Lucina, in how she was originally planned as just a costume but developed into a full-blown character later on, and Dr. Mario and Dark Pit would take even less work than her.

That pulls up an interesting theory. The English version doesn't call the same characters by different names based on gender, but there are going to be problems in other versions with WFT and Villager. Case in point: in German, the gender of the character is stated in the name, so you've got the "Dorfsbewohner" and "Wii Fit Trainerin" The gender flipped would be "Dorfsbewohnerin" and "Wii Fit Trainer." If they didn't change villager and called the female without the suffix, it would be seriously awkward. Or calling the male trainer with a feminine suffix? That would really be bizarre. Would the other versions have to change the names? Or do they just get the english text read with the character name fixed. Or not? And does that then translate to the English version? What about the Koopalings leak, where we'd have 8 different looks for 'Bowser, Jr.'?

Probably, but as for not being able to see it, look to the bottom right corner of Palutena's icon.

To be fair, it is possible that Dr. Mario got some changes to make him less of a clone and Dark Pit has his own moves too. We can't really say until we see them in action.
