Grabbing items would be more easy in the Mother 3 design since there is no glass, he can grab stuff with his own hands without any problems.

I know I said in previous posts that he could still be expressive in his Mother 3 form, a bit, but I don't know if he would have the force to hold items like a hammer, I rather see his mech do that with its upper arms.

Oh wow, that is pretty nuts. Sometimes I go crazy when I post here because I know how beloved the series is yet I see more people asking for Undertale than Porky.

Glad as hell to know it's not just me. Might be that this particular website doesn't have many Earthbound fans.

I said I would be satisfied if even one of them made it in, but as of now two have been confirmed. Give me Porky, Ganon, Dark Matter, and this roster will be perfect in the first-party front.

Let's see, I grew up with Link to the past so of course I love Ganon and the possibility of a character with a trident sounds amazing.
I also grew up with Kirby dreamland 3 and Kirby 64 and Dark Matter / Zero are my favorite Kirby villain, so any Dark matter representation in Smash would make me extremely happy.
And Porky is right now my most wanted rep, so I don't need to make my case.
10/10 would never ask for anything again.

Damn, so Porky was even more voted than Rayman and Paper Mario? It surprises me that even Rayman surpassed Paper Mario, in the ballot results Paper Mario was 11th while Rayman was nowhere to be seen. I'm glad that so much people want Porky too! I think that Earthbound may just get another rep due to its community growing thanks to Smash Bros.

Honestly, it makes me happy to see Porky get some attention. I've wanted him as a playable character since Brawl. I genuinely believe he deserves a spot.

He's one of the very few Mother characters to appear in multiple games, he's an antagonist, he has a unique personality compared to the rest of the roster, and he's got a ton of moveset potential. He's one of the most important Mother characters hands down.

Unfortunately, I don't see him getting in as a playable character. It feels like they're really trying to fulfill fan-requests first and foremost this time around, and Porky is a character I haven't seen much push for until somewhat recently.
I *can* see him returning as a boss though.

Masked Man and Ninten have to be the Porky's opponents, being Masked Man the most supported as far as I know while Ninten is easily a Ness echo fighter. I'm losing hope over time, but I still think he can make it in. They're going with the Good vs Bad idea as it seems, and by stretching, Masked Man isn't actually a villain:

his memories were brought back nearly at the very end of the game, who ended up shooting himself an intense bolt of lighting so that he couldn't attack Lucas.

Ninten is the best choice for an echo, but he's just a bit too obscure, despite being in the virtual console, but outside of that he's nothing more than an "old Ness". I could see them adding one of these boys and making Porky have his Mother 3 design as a boss, but I easily see it being resized to a smaller form, just like stated in my previous posts, or it's Earthbound form, which would be rather perfect for Smash. I just hope he has a chance some day.

It looks like Skull Kid is getting in, and apart from him, Porky is the only villain in the Top 10 (I don't know if Travis Touchdown is a villain I don't even know that character). If we're getting Skull Kid, Porky can definitely be in.







Also Geno tho, he's so obscure but yet so overrated.

Funny that you may ask, because while Travis is the protagonist of his game, there are certainly many who’d agree he’s a villain.

But back on topic, I think it’s neat Porky’s gaining support. Who knows, maybe we’ll be the next Ridley? (I swear, after this game there’s going to be such a support vacuum)

Travis is more of an anti-hero than he is a true villain (Given that his motives aren't about him going out and massacring innocent people for no reason other than sick kicks)!

He's mainly killing other killers/assassin's to pay his rent and get laid (As I've seen with the first No More Heroes)!

Many would argue that killing people to pay rent and get laid is such a scummy thing to do he’s pretty much the villain of the story. At the very least, I think that ambiguity is very much intended.

This actually makes me happier than it should. I thought Porky gained popularity just over these past few weeks due to the concept of Heroes vs Villains, but I researched a bit and in a SourceGaming article I found this image about potential characters that were requested:

Although I saw this, in the exact same article they list the top 50 characters requested, and Porky doesn't seem to be in, but either Skull Kid (I didn't really fully read the article, I just went a bit over it for a quick "lazy" resarch, so correct me if I'm wrong). I believe Porky didn't get requested enough in the ballot, and as far as I know, Smash Ultimate's roster is built up from the ballot, so we may get Porky as DLC if he continues to gain such popularity. Still it seems that we're getting Skull Kid, and I'm extremely convinced of this due to various reasons that you can see everyone talk about, so maybe Porky could definitely be another great villain addition to the roster. Hopes on Porky, either for the main game or as DLC!

People want Wart for smash? that's awesome but at the same time not a surprise, I remember people still asking for wart to be in a mario kart or a new mario bros game.

Porky was definitely underrated.

I don't remember there ever being a topic for Porky during the ballot days nor during Smash Switch speculation. There was no smashified for Porky. It's still funny to remember that Ness and Lucas are one of the only characters in Smash that are heavily loved and played but almost no one played their games. Actually, Porky was the reason I got into Earthbound! I've been trying to beat Mother 3, but sadly didn't try Earthbound yet, although I know the whole story already...

It'd also be interesting to see a Smashified Porky! We got a Brawl version, so that's something, but I wonder if maybe they'll do an Earthbound spider-mech Smashified Porky!

The list is extremely convincing to me, except for Globox, and if any of you say the spelling being bad means fake, think that English isn't the only language, perhaps he may be from another country and just don't know English perfectly. That list has 13 unique fighters, we been told not to expect to many new fighters remember.

We got 16 newcomers in Sm4sh counting DLC and 12 without DLC, although I can't say this makes a point but why not.
EDIT: Also Sakurai some times likes to troll us, we can expect anything from him at this point.

I've heard that Greninja didn't even have a name when Sm4sh was being worked on, but they were already working on Greninja, although don't know if moves or basically the model, since they already had the sketches of his design. Also I didn't quite understand the last part, if you'd mind clarifying to me what you meant that would be cool.

I pretty much got hyped with this leak due to it having Porky and Rayman, which are one of my most wanted, and I wanted it very badly to be true. But if we really use common sense I understand that those are too many newcomers.
