even if you're not satisfied with it, the only way to get better is practice. brofist

You mouth isn't actually that bad. If they're wanted, I could give out protips. Everyone likes protips.

if anyones interested in similar photosets:

they were made with things lyring around class / campus. a free giant flyer just colllecting dust? re use!
i didnt have real markers. i used my highlightr i had for like .... since i was born it was in my house. and my friend's CRAPPY sharpies, had to push real hard to squeeze out ink. and of course note taking pens not ideal for drawing. i wasnt worried about screwing up. so i didnt put pencils like i usually do. and it turned out to be better than any of my similar drawings i did in the past. i also drew pretty fast. maybe averaged 175 apm or so. peak at 200 :p

http://backpackpanda.tumblr.com/post/9927880027 < - pink throwies
http://backpackpanda.tumblr.com/post/9930593976/school < - more school notes
all made *yesterday. speed style.

akuma rough wip. oddly was before my sh*tty marker drawing in the above p set. [his mouth is meant to be totodile -ish because the title is "messatsu shark"

*this wip was made not yesterday. but the akuma i doodled was me thinking of a different idea of doing his waist fading away into letters

white pink themed post was unintentional. [white beans, pink stuffs].

ii realized lately that drawing while not worrying too much about how it will turn out [uninhibited]
even in under less than satisfactory drawing conditions
can be quite beneficial in creating new things, new styles, or in my case, some cooler things than when i try real hard.

also. drawing on paper plates, napkins, the backs of paper people are gonna throw out can be fun too.

K I'll start throwing random things around every once in a while.

Rough lines are the most important part of your drawing. If you don't have a strong foundation, than the rest of your drawing is doomed to be weak. Mistakes escalate - one minute your eye looks to low, then to compensate you turn it at an angle, now you have to fix your ear in accordance, but NOW it looks like your head is tilted at an angle - you get the idea. Guidelines will help throw the idea down on paper beforehand, and the idea behind your drawing is what you should be primarily concerned about.
This goes for sketching faces as much as it does for drawing from the top of your head.

that probably all seems pretty arbitrary, but I think it's something people should always need to hear. process is important, and it's probably the worst of all habits when people add details too quickly.

Actual useful tips later I guess

i um, need to learn the geist way. its like i start with a block and shave away, as opposed to laying down a foundation. and thanks globie. style fuh dayz.

... was hoping meno would have his sketches up by the time i relogged on.

* fixed old post

I once watched a person on iScribble use the "draw a block and shave away" method to draw a scizor, it was really amazing. It requires you to have very good visualization I think.

Recently I've been drawing everything freehand and sometimes it looks a little wonky xD

It's more about practice than visualzation. It's all basic at that step so it's so easy to change things while you can

going to upload practice sketches soon!!! ( soon as in over the next couple days ). I am interested in starting a lokii like art blog, would that be an atleast semi-productive thing people would be interested in, or is that a bit pretentious. Just my low selfesteem self hating self is telling me "who do you think YOU are that people would want to follow your ****ty blog you *** HOLE"

he yells at me so much!!!

EDIT - i got side tracked, i have been working on my female faces, and facial symmetry, that is why i mentioned it, haha.

Thanks Geist. I usually start with a circle for the cranium > draw a line down the middle, guess how low the jaw should be, put a horizontal line where the eyes would be, where the nose would be, and where the mouth would be. >.> But I do guess a lot. At one point I thought to myself, "Oh man, the mouth is too low. Now the chin is too small and I need to redraw the whole jaw." I guess I need to learn to do more guidelines and learn the proportions instead of guessing.

har har

I am simply saying I am not sure my art, specifically my sketches and scraps are good enough to have its own blog.

I love lokiis blog.

But on the other hand, I always love fighting women, I am living in texas now soooo

darkshadow - gained a lot of my knowledge of anatomy from this book, and for less than 10 dollars now this is such an amazing piece for any artist to own http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/14..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0PPDV9VQVR71AFF9DNPX

I say go for it... all of us except Geist were beginners at some point so don't worry about sketches and stuff being 'good enough'.

It'll be nice to see some practice/progress stuff, I'd like the chance to see what kind of things people have in their sketchbooks since they're often private to the owner.

@wemp + dark

neon drop some razzie / maxie beats

speaking for myself...

some of us arent "beginners" in the temporal sense-
are still beginners in the present skill tense.

i have a current low skill lvl when it comes to visual arts.
a technique lacking when i(m) eye-ing the paper bullseye and aim my ink darts
_________________________________________________or discharging my ink carts
________________________________________________or drawing pics based from the fronts of my NES carts
________________________________________________or paintin war fronts where bases are belong to my pencil marks
__________________________________________________ if i do it comes off as either too trite or too tart
________________________________________________like two Ts or 2 teas. like a _milktea drikin milktea.

however, i put my stuff out there, for better or worse or "The Worst"
its better you do it than leaving inner thirst, liek a squirtle refusing to watergun, "simply saying SQUIRT!" , he's terse { terse= Sparing in the use of words; abrupt -dictionary}

sure, people may find it annoying, but if you think about it
thoughtful walk over a bridge with it
over the trolls
riding the green hills (zone) that roll [fast like [sonic] ]
they rise and fall
so at times from it youll feel short, others tall, even flying , spinning bald heads [mj + fudd ] , orbiting like mj in space jam palming a bball -( sonic + tails)

and if think you that posting your stuff will be helpful or fun,
do it.
have it done.

__________

neon, is it ok if i doublepost in my thread if do big weekend updates?

Yeah I think over this week I'll set something up. Hmm I am not sure what makes me really a beginner, I guess I had thought of myself more as an intermediate artist, but either way.

Nooooo I didn't mean to imply you were a beginner at all D: I was just saying don't worry about your sketches being at a specific skill level to warrant a blog, we'd be happy to see them if you wanted to upload them. I word things very poorly at 3 in the morning lol.

I'm going to leave a present in Geist's inbox later.

Also Razzie goodness for neous.
