Poll - Most important matchup to learn

Hello -Insert Character Board Here-,

I'm conducting a character-wide poll about each character's most important matchup. This is simply out of curiosity of the current metagame and every person's stance on their character.

Each person get's 1 vote, regardless of character board, your first vote will be the only one counted. So please only vote for your main character. Make's my life easier if I'm not having to triple-check everyone.


Please keep in mind this isn't your most difficult matchup. I want to hear your most important matchup. There is a slight, but significant difference in this. If your worst matchup is Jigglypuff - do you consider Jigglypuff an important matchup to actually learn? Doubtful. So please vote for the most IMPORTANT matchup.

Of course, your most important matchup may be your hardest one. But just keep the above in mind.

Metaknight for me

imo learning against some of the best tools in the game should help you with some other ones.

That and MK is where the biggest block of the competition is (not that it's like 50% or anything, but it's still pretty big).

I'm kinda on the fence with this one.

For Lucario I think his worst MU is King DeDeDe, however like people have been saying if you don't learn Metaknight you will lose to a good chunk of the field.

Since I need to follow your thread rules, I would pick King DDD.

I would say DDD and MK. Both are fairly common.

I choose DDD since it should be assumed that you have a basic understanding of the MK match-up.

Lets look at it this way...

Assume you have a 35% chance of beating a DeDeDe main. You have maybe... a 20% chance of running into one assuming you would go all the way through the bracket. You have a 40% chance of beating a Metaknight main. You have a 95% chance of running into one. So you have a 7% chance of getting knocked out by a DeDeDe vs a 38% chance by an Metaknight. What one do you think is more important to learn

Of course all those numbers are arbitrary but its pretty realistic that the chance of a Metaknight stopping you advancing should really be A LOT higher than DeDeDe... So what is of higher importance? I think its kinda obvious :/ (This applies to ALL CHARACTERS btw)

Snake or Dedede, for sure. Both need to be handled VERY carefully and one mistake=20-40% depending on if they read/predict/do something ******** you aren't ready for

Marth is my worst. I can deal with ekinS. I don't normally win but I feel like I could. I have never beaten a Marth in tourny unless I went Meta. Doesn't matter how scrub they are marth is a *****

In all honesty. I think Snake/Wario should be the most learned match up.

Everyone else EXCEPT Wario and Snake die at reasonable percents.

Vs'ing Marth/MetaKnight improve your spacing game so well, but I'd give it to MetaKnight simply because it's MetaKnight
