See, the problem with this statement is that they aren't fully playable since you are forced to switch around.
I said it before and I'll say it again, I think the Pokemon Trainer is a way for Sakurai to appropriately represent Pokemon, a franchise with an absurd amount of potential characters, without actually giving them excessively many roster spots compared to Mario and Zelda.
The PT is one character. He has the effort of three characters put into him, but he counts as one.

I don't really care if you "see" it as 3 characters or not. Sakurai has, in one MEGA pimp slap, effectively made one of the best possiable reps for pokemon there is.

I find no reason to expect any more than 1 more pokemon new comer IF that. It was never a rule that Pokemon had to have w/e amount of characters on the roster or that they had to have w/e amount of "slots" as you all call them.

I really don't think lucario is going to be in this game.

Pikachu, mewtwo, jigglypuff and Pokemon trainer with (charizard, venasaur, squirtle)

I think thats enough pokemon reps.

A good deal of me agrees with this statement.

But I ask it again for the new page, How many pokemon do you all think will be in the game with Pokemon Trainer in the picture?

Yeah, he made a sig with Red, Waluigi, Mii and someone eles in it. It had their faces on the Sandbag with, "Our only chance in Brawl" appearing on it.

Red is now scribbled out, I made sure I mentioned that to him.

Ahhhh, page 19. Such precious memories for me. XD To think that one of the few reasons I registered here was to talk with others about Red being in Brawl. I wrote to Sakurai (with the help of a friend), I made this topic despite knowing how many flames I would get, all for the sake of my favourite character. Brawl is going to be a very important game to me because of this whole experience, and I just love reading page 19 to...well, wherever I stop, it's just too great! I'm so glad Sakurai realized Red's importance to the Pokemon series as well, instead of adding...*shudder* the Diamond/Pearl male lead. He looks horrible. ><

Humm, good post on pg16 by Duken Boy.

I started doing research on Satoshi Tajiri (the maker of GameFreak and Pokemon) and fond out that it was a bussness choice to make pika the focus of pokemon because it was a relatively popular pokemon that both girls and boys would like and that it wasn't his idea to make Pika so big. (I already knew most of this but not the last part)

Also, I fond out that Satoshi Tajiri (supposely) has Asperger syndrome and is really creative but "reclusive" and "eccentric" according to nintendo officials.

I fond that interesting because I just saw America's next top model and a woman named Heather also has it. . . and she is a pretty good model.

kk....is this really still going on? I've posted this like, a million times since then, but since nobody seems to remeber (except Fawriel, who I'd like to say thanks too again for helping me out on more than one occasion) I'll say it again

I was was obviously wrong about Red being a PC in Brawl...but also at the same time, I was right.

You see, BEFORE Red was confirmed as a PC, people here thought completly different. NOBODY, had EVER suggested that Red be included as a "zelda/shiek" character, switching out pokemon from the backround, NO ONE ever saw that coming.

Instead, everyone was suggesting that Red just be a playable character, by himself. No poke-switching, no charizard/ivysaur/squirtle for him to controll, just Red. A Red that runs around punching and kicking people.....without much pokemon involvment at all. It was THAT RED, that I was protesting against, and who could blame me? If Red WAS a PC (not in the way he is now, just without the whole poke-switch concept) majority of people would find it stupid.

two of my biggest points I always made were that Red shouldn't physically fight ( destroy's the whole point of training pokemon to "battle" >_>)

and that actual POKEMON would make better representation than any trainer would.

and then came the day Sakurai confirmed Red as a PC. So I was wrong about him being playable....but were my reasons ?

Red (now confirmed) does NOT FIGHT DIRECTLY, he stands in the backround, and can't even hit, or be touched ( O_o a playable character that can win/lose without even physically fighting.....NOBODY saw it coming)

and also, the actual FIGHTERS are Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle.....>_> who are POKEMON (first gen too =D).....pokemon representing the pokemon games >_>

I was right about what I said......I just failed to see that Sakurai could make all of THAT into a character......as did everyone >_>

Red is now in Brawl, in a way I am perfectly fine with, ( a way nobody ever saw coming) and beleive it or not, I can't wait to try out Charizard =P

This really stroke me when I read it because I have actually heard Smash fans in person say "You know what I always thought would be cool for the pokemon in Smash bros? To have a trainer in the back ground. Like ASH could be in the background and just act like he is telling PIKACHU to attack like in the games!".

I heard that like 2 months before PT was updated. Funny, thats exactly how Satoshi Tajiri said American's are in the viewing of pokemon.

i think the guess of red being in brawl was very random, it wasnt something the foundator of the thread was 100% sure about it.
i could have said, "oh i snake will be in the game" and get ALL NEGATIVE RESPONSES but he is in there.
its not to take off credit from him cause he did step forward and putted his hypothesis knowing 99% of the replys were most likely to be negative negative.

its like if i start a thread saying liu kang from the mortal kombat series will be in the game, and the 100 % of replys will be negative and then he appears in the roster, then everyone will be like, "fk the haters who didnt wanted lui kang in the game"

no one can blame people for replying and staying realistic on their chooses for brawl, cause if you all ask me, red was a pretty surprising surprise...pfft even the creator of the thread couldnt belive it ~~

Yes, but that's in-game. Outside of the games (i.e., on the Dojo), that banner is used to show that a previously-unannounced newcomer is being revealed.

The "boxart" is inofficial - it was not sent to anyone by Nintendo or anyone else. It was probably made by some artist hired by a retailer or so because a plain logo just doesn't sell well.
There was an article stating that Nintendo never sent anyone any boxart, but I don't really feel like digging it up... someone posted it in the official discussion thread.

It's still likely that PT is a starter. Besides the fact that he just seems like a starter ( to me ), it's most likely that everyone so far will be available from the beginning... it's not a lot longer till the release date in Japan and character updates have been getting infrequent, so it's likely there won't be many more of them before the release. And I do suppose there will be more characters in total than what we are likely to get in that short period of time, eh?
