Pokémon HOME Ver. 3.0.0 Update is Out!

HOME_Release.jpg

Earlier this month the compatibility update for Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet suffered a delay. However, fans can rejoice, as HOME‘s long-awaited Version 3.0.0 update is finally here!

The Version 3.0.0 update enables transfer compatibility between HOME and Scarlet & Violet. This means players can move their Pokémon between the two applications freely. And, for the first time in the series, players can send their Pokémon back to older generations. Pokémon from Scarlet & Violet can be transferred to Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Legends Arceus, and Sword & Shield. This works as long as said Pokémon’s species exists in the previous game. Additionally, some Pokémon that weren’t in Scarlet & Violet can now be moved into the game from HOME. These Pokémon are:

Hisuian evolutions don't seem to work aside from Basculin. Stantler and H.Qwilfish have their signature moves from PLA, but using them 20 times doesn't trigger an evolution, sad.

I'm a little disappointed that every Pokemon transferred in has a boring Tera Type. I think it would have been cool if there was a 1/100 or so chance for the pokemon to have a random one. Surprise, the Typhlosion you've had for a decade was secretly Tera-Bug the whole time!

sounds like it is set up that way for now
Weird that Basculin works though. People have dug through the code and found that Stantler and H.Qwilfish more or less have Primeape's same method(Use X move 20 times), but it's actually a broken string of code.

is it changed from having it to be the different version of the move?

Considering Strong and Agile styles don't exist in Scarlet/Violet, the code just says for the Pokemon to use Psyshield Bash/whatever H.Qwilfish's move is called 20 times.

But due to someone not writing the code right, it doesn't properly function.

perhaps the code was copied straight from arceus and that’s why it doesn’t work?

If it did, it'd make mention of Strong or Agile style somewhere.

The most likely scenario is it's just an oversight and will be fixed........ eventually. They pushed out a fix for Basculin before the game officially launched since its evolution method caused it to evolve into a BAD EGG, so the Hisuian Pokemon and their evolution methods are.... buggy, to say the least.
