Why do people want stuff like helmetless Falcon? How is removing your helmet a costume?

I bet you guys are **** at Halloween: "What are you dressed like?" "Myself, I'm just not wearing any socks."
Helmetless falcon is a wanted thing probably because he is always wearing a helmet.

Personally I don't think Captain falcon should lose his helmet at all aside from his glorious sacrifice.

lol I guess Captain Bill Nye isn't popular then. Oh well, there go my hopes for maskless Meta Knight as well.

In light of these new developments I now fully support Classic Captain Falcon. He looks cool too.

As long as I can replace the crowd chants for Captain Falcon to the "Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!" from the Bill Nye intro, I'm all for helmetless Falcon

I practice the sIutty rule and wear lingerie with mouse ears. it'd be silly without the mouse ears though I agree.

Because he's al- wait somebody already said that.

Also because sometimes simple things amuse us fans.

Twilight Princess hooded Zelda would look cool... Well the only Alternate costume I know it could fit Zelda.

Pajama Ness as mentioned before as well tooo would be awesome...

What we need is a Wario-Man alternative costume that becomes normal Wario when he uses his final smash.

No they won't and we've been over this. Stop spreading false information.

^ CLEARLY not the same size
1) Height

The Sonic CD instruction manual states that Metal Sonic is about 2.5 ft. (76.2 cm.) tall and since Metal Sonic is the most accurate recreation in the Robotic Hedgehog line and Metal Sonic`s sprites are the exact same height as Sonic`s sprites it can be assumed that Classic Sonic is also around that same height.

Metal Sonic`s Height = about 2.5 ft. (76.2 cm./30 in./0.762 m.)
Classic Sonic`s Height = about 2.5 ft. (76.2 cm./30 in./0.762 m.)

In Sonic 06 (Sonic 2006/SONIC THE HEDGEHOG/That Soul Crushing Game/Whatever you like to call it), Elise is said to stand at 64 inches tall (5.333 ft.). Comparing their bodies in a cutscene where they are walking through a meadow, Sonic stands at 27/40 of Elise`s height (43.2 in./1.1 m.).

Metal Sonic`s Height = about 2.5 ft. (76.2 cm./30 in./0.762 m.)
Classic Sonic`s Height = about 2.5 ft. (76.2 cm./30 in./0.762 m.)
Elise`s Height = about 5.33333 ft. (162.56 cm./64 in./1.6256 m.)
Modern Soinc`s Height = about 3.6 ft. (109.728 cm./43.2 in./1.1m/)

using these measurements, Classic Sonic is 1.1 feet shorter then Modern Sonic meaning he is just barely over 2/3 of Modern Sonic`s Height
(Fun Fact: through this research I learned that, according to the American manuals of several different Sonic games, Classic and Modern Sonic are BOTH around 15 to 16 and Classic Tails is OLDER then Modern Tails)

2) Attacks

Classic Sonic`s legs and arms are much shorter then Modern Sonic (Do I even need to bring up numbers to prove this?) and the fact that most of SSBP:M Sonic`s moves involve punching and kicking isn`t doing the little guy any favors.

3) Voice

Classic Sonic doesn`t talk in his games except for one voice clip in one game. In Sonic CD if you wait to long without moving (3 minutes) Sonic will say "I`m outta here!"
This voice sounds like a child`s voice and nothing like Mr. "You`re too slow!"

Classic Sonic has been shown to be modern Sonic height in some places, it'd be a matter of removing his voice changing the tone of blue, the eyes and the shoes.

That being said, it looks way too similar to be an alternate outfit.

1) they can`t remove the voice of a alternate costume
2) Classic Sonic is pudgier and (until you give me a good example of Classic Sonic being just as tall as Modern Sonic) shorter then Modern Sonic so it`s not just the voice, tone, eyes, and shoes.

Lol if classic sonic was the same height they would look far too similar. They could probably get away with just making it a recolour they are so similar.

Granted he's not always the same height, you can also look at the opening for Sonic CD where he looks tall-ish.

Either way it's a stupid idea because he'd have to be silent and even if he did he'd look identical from a distance.

Lol when it comes to something like this sure... make a recolour in the style of classic sonic and save the real work for an actual costume.
Why not instead of ****ing off the thousands of people who like to apply logic, canon, and timeline to a SPIN-OFF CROSSOVER FIGHTING GAME they just not make a recolor and keep Sonic the way he is? It would look very weird if they have already changed all of his costumes to be different colors and then add in a slightly darker blue sonic with black eyes.

There are 2 simple recolours still in PM. The yellow and black ones are just slight hue adjustments with different shoes.

What I'm saying is, recolour or slight body modification (without height, voice or overall shape) to classic sonic won't be all that different in the heat of battle.

I'd rather it not be in there at all imo but it was an attempt to at least shoehorn it in there.

Sonic is one of those characters I feel doesn't need an alt, but rather other color schemes. It's simpler by far, and doesn't require new art.

For instance I think he could use colors that rep other characters in the series without needing to actually add the characters. (I think they've said before they could just use the extra slots for more colors.)

We have:

Red: Knuckles
Green: Jet
Black?: Shadow

We could use:

White: Silver (That'd look badass...)
Yellow/Gold: Super Sonic
Orange: Tails? Meh.
Pink: Espio
Red+White+Yellow : Eggman color?

I also think this is the best option for Yoshi. Seriously, I'd play Black/White Yoshi all day err'y day. And Purple. Surely I'm not alone on THIS.

Can anyone answer these questions:

1. Are Jiggs/Pika getting their party hat costumes AND her Melee outfits (green bandana/fedora, crown, etc)

2. Can Wario have another Alt?

3. What's the limit on the amount of Alt. costumes per character?

I've been trying to get this answered for a while.
I'm no expert or PMBR member, but my understanding was they could unlock the same number as Wario has for everyone else, and fill those slots as needed. They could have a costume + recolors, just extra recolors, or more unique costumes (obviously this is less desirable, as it's ALOT more art work.)

I think there is probably a one alt per person limit... at least until there is at least one alt per person then we can build from there... but I don't know for sure... that's just my guess.

That's the assumption I came to, which is cool. I just hope we're allowed to fill them ourselves, and they give a guide for doing so (some characters have weird numbering conventions or unused colors, which might make it weird/complicated).

No, I mean the amount of extra slots every character has.

I hope they do. (At least let us add in our own RECOLORS.) I don't see why it'd be tough, although for stuff like Yoshi the recolored eggs might? be an issue.

I just want Black Yoshi as a legit color so bad. (I can't make myself get rid of any OTHER colors just for it. Additional is the only logical option for me.)

because why not.
Dededoo is actually on the vault. I used to main Dedede in vBrawl and always used that texture.

But realistically, we'd need Taranto's permission, and Masked Dedede is (in the eyes of many) the better choice. I'd personally rather have Dededoo just for laughs.

I wish I could read more BitF... Whenever I visit the site, my internet router shuts off :c

Eh, it's just that certain characters don't use color slots, like I think Link doesn't have a FitLink02.pac, and neither does Toon Link. Though yeah, the eggs probably would be hard...
The other thing is which slots are the "team" slots, to set up alternate team costumes.

I completely agree, black and purple Yoshis are necessary.

I'm willing to bet Yoshi and Kirby will have Alt. colors in 3.0. I remember a PMBR mentioning that they hadn't shown us all of them yet.

I sure hope so. It seems pretty silly to ignore some of the most obvious canon recolors EVER, and give Lucario a Black color but not Yoshi.
