No, I absolutely mean Vanguard Class Ike. From Radiant Dawn. This one.

Lord Ike is a fine enough alt; same age as the Smash Bros. Ike, same game as Smash Bros. Ike; you get the idea. I feel this would be a better alternative:

Also, I'm going to suggest this.

While I admit that a DK with gloves would be a pretty cool nod to his appearance in Punch-Out, I can't help but feel like these kind of costumes would be really confusing during a battle. After all, it's just a DK with gloves. Like how Lucario's and Sonic's colors are often changed because they're too close to each other - many of these costumes are even closer to their respective base as the palette swaps of mentioned characters.
I feel pretty much the same about the oft-mentioned Masked Dedede, but at least he has a different hammer to differentiate the two a bit more.

The thing is, this would be a second "base" to put it that way. You would have your basic DK colors, the Glove DK neutral and then glove DK with colors, maybe on the gloves or just in DK himself

Charizard X's model would also fit his hitboxes better.

If the game can't render a constant fire for the sides of his face, it'll look dumb like in the 3ds where it can't. And even if it can render somewhat of a fire, it'd have to flow backwards/forward while he's moving forward/backward.

Y to me looks more like Charmeleon in character which is kind of cool

Already been stated that the character has to remain themselves. Sonic can't very well 'wear' Shadow's... I don't know, fur? Rosalina and Daisy are outright different characters, and ditto for Lucina.

Not practical because of the joints on Toon Link versus those of Young Link. TLink's knees are in his ankles.

Don't understand the Deedles, but more hats is basically already what's confirmed for Pikachu. Pichu wouldn't be viable due to size differences, and probable pain in the ass for hurtboxes.

Ganondorf would have to remain Ganondorf. It's likely we'd see Ocarina/Melee Mulletdorf.

Wario has enough, and Paper Luigi is too drastic a change for his model. Plus, Mr. L is basically confirmed. Doc is already confirmed for Mario, we've even seen him in action.

It was stated somewhere that the costume has to somewhat be the same character. as they said Masked man over Lucas would work.

Masked Man over Lucas will not be done by the PMBR. Lucas in a (maskless) Pig Suit could be done, though.

If Lucas is wearing the masked man costume, it can work. I'm not confirming anything though, I'm just partaking in hypotheticals. I am a bit aware about Mother 3's story, and I see why you are suggesting it.

Though Wario has enough, if he gt an extra costume it'd be either his white outfit with the top hat from WarioWare DIY, or his purple mask from Wario: Master of Disguise.
