Also I have a question. Will the Shadow semi-alt replace Sonic's Black colour? I imagine it would be difficult to distinguish the two. Or is Sonic getting a completely different colour to make up for it?

kth's m2 proportions seams to stem from the poke movie m2, whereas as others have already said, pm has melee's.

PM's is far better imo.


Melee Ganon and Retro Falcon team colours would be amaaazing :D

Yes - the Shadow semi-alt is replacing the current black recolor.

So the Beat Sonic alt seems to have a unique skating animation. Is this a special exception or some kind of new tech?

On a more serious note:

I asked earlier in the topic for a Skating animation for Shadow-Sonic. Now I was shot down because it's a bit much for one alt.

But! now that Jet Set Sonic is a thing, it would make more sense for him to skate, too... right?

While it would be cool, I don't think it's going to happen. Even if they could make costume-specific animations, it would most probably mess with the hitboxes.

But aesthetic bones and Hitboxes are on different planes of existence in the code, IIRC.

You can have them skate in the aesthetic bones, but have the normal hitboxes.

That would be an awful lot of work and would probably up the filesize of both the Jet Set Sonic .pcs file and the PSA file quite a bit, which would create lag or even crash the game if they ended up over the filesizes' limits.

If it was possible to add costume-specific animations I'm sure Mario would have kept his old down taunt (or get a new one because, honestly, that one sucks a lot) and only Doctor Mario would have gotten the new one in PM 3.0.

No, bones are bones no matter what their purpose is. Hitboxes and hurtboxes follow the animations of the bones they're attached to. This also applies to bones that have graphics.

It's possible to have one-slot animations, but I don't think PMBR are gonna want to bother with it.

Didn't one of the pmdt say there was someting special about Jet Set Sonic that you would have to play as him to find out. If it were a running animation it would be on shadow shoes also.

I'd rather Luigi gets some original costumes. Mr. L getting recolors would just be boring to me.
My personal most wanted costumes are Dr. Luigi, Casino Luigi (from Super Mario 64 DS), and Cowboy Luigi (from Mario party 2)

And before somebody mentions Smash 4, I'd like to point out he is wearing a lime green shirt there and a totally different looking L symbol on the hat.

So it's still fair game.

I'd like to see more of Hyrule Castle in motion, if possible. It looks like Kaepora Gaebora does some neat things in the background that would be nice to see uncut, among other details.

Ohhhh~. So I guess I can take this as confirmation that the Shadow and Beat alts will have unique skating animations?

That is going to look mighty awkward running in skates. Unless you guys managed to spruce up Sonic's running animation in general.
