cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
Just watching the first one, I noticed you need to ledgeguard more offensively. you have more offstage maunverability than marth, and while I did like the turnip drop to ledgehog, it didn't really cut it, as we can see. you really play defensively in a whole, so I'd recomend practicing to find all the windows in which you can get an offensive edge.

liked the nairs.

thank you for that plethora of information manalord!
i guess thanks to you too irish mafia.....

haha jk thanks irish mafia :D

I'm usually more offensive off the edge, this whole match i was trying the whole turnip as an edgeguard thing. didn't work as well as other edgegurds.

i know what you mean with the FC's, there was a point where i couldve punished his platform landing with a fullhupped nair, but i was in a float so i couldn't.

I'll take a potato chip....and eat it!!!
I'll take a look at the vids soon, xD. Maybe I'll watch them while I eat....I always enjoy watching things while I eat. ^_^ Um...I'll look at a random video now and say something, xD.

I watched the second video. (HA!! Take THAT!!)

Um...I agree with Irish Mafia about the Edgeguarding. You should probably work a bit more on that. You didn't have to worry in a few cases as he was aiming for the cloud, but still...it was rather weak. (No offense, of course). Your Nairs are very stationary. You missed a VERY good combo opportunity, AND edgeguard because you were stationary with your FC Nairs. Also...don't be afraid to go out every once in a while. I tend to stick to the stage myself, but I try to go out and intercept for the guard. Try to follow up major opportunites as well. You had a Dash attack where he was WIDE open, and didn't do much. Other than that...you did alright. A little polish and you'll be fine. More Bairs, too, xD.

A suggestion...if a Fox is that high and stuck in hit stun...go for an Up air. Also...the timing on the Upb out OOS was a bit slow. Nice idea, just the wrong timing. I hope I was helpful.

thankyou rain(ame)!
i know what you mean about the stationary nairs, i hate it when i do that, i think it's gonna hit so i start floating back towards the stage, and get a failed edgeguard.

and that up-b OoS was pretty bad, i had decided to do it after it was too late.

critiques noted ;)
i'll try and record and upload my progress so you feel like your advice is actual going towards something :)

I only watched the first match.

i liked your full hop nairs on marth, that first stock was beautiful. however, throughout the game i think you overused the xif turnip edgegaurd, you need to switch it up. also your recovery seems a bit risky at times so just be careful there. also work on your spacing, it was pretty good but i saw room for improvement.

Not to be mean, but its very difficult to say much about a player when their opponent doesn't play at a high level. IMO the marth had a lot to learn, and could have played A LOT smarter, but i understand that he's learning of course. So I would say if you want better critques it would be helpful if you played a person that was better or at least on par with you

ok, so i watched all 4 of your videos

1 - you handled the situation well. you just need to work on your follow-ups. the best way to fight marth is to keep him defensive and nervous. honestly, that marth isn't giving you enough of a challenge for you to get an accurate read on the match up. but if you keep practicing w/ him, you'll make him a better player and he'll become one of your most difficult opponents.

2 - this one was difficult to gauge. the fox was pretty techy, but he made LOTS of mistakes. i wouldn't Full hop nair against fox when he's a low percents. that just leads to CC shine > Usmash. and that's another things. this fox user does not DAIR > SHINE > USMASH. that combination is the bane of peach in competitive play. you have to play a lot safer against fox or you won't know how to deal w/ this. also, switch up your recovery pattern. there was a part where you just jumped toward the ledge and fox shined you.

3 - refer to #1

4 - this was the best match. granted, the fox died in really silly ways, you both showed lots of potential. one thing that really stuck out to me that i have to comment on: what to do when fox is grounded on a platform

@ :42 you got a bair, which was not bad. but when the fox landed he missed his tech. so if you had done another bair, you would have more effective. but whenever ever you get fox grounded, try to Uair, Nair, or waveland Dsmash him. they can lead to more hits. and wait for the tech so you don't get hit by get up attack.

* if you can try to play other people. (preferably people who are better than you) this will give you the best insight to certain match ups and will help you in the long run. and play that fox user a lot as well. he's pretty fast, so that'll help to sharpen your reflexes. tell him to watch jman vids and to use DAIR > SHINE > Usmash so that you can learn how to deal w. it.

Wow lotsa DJC bairs.

Lotsa of them lol

I think your peach is more technical than mine.

My peach only does like insta float nairs or something.

I like that you use the Xif edgeguard and drop the turnip and grab ledge.

But you should try to use her other edgeguards too. Sometimes if they are too close to the stage you should just grab ledge and drop off bair.

Also no offense to the guy you played but you were a lot better than him. He looked like he just fell for stuff lol. I feel like you shouldn't have been able to get out of so much stuff and your opponent just tried to tech chase fsmash the entire game.

For the first one anyway lol
