I just made myself a new avatar out of some pixels I had laying around for more Lucas support, but those leaks get more believable every day. Yesterday there were videos showing off Shulk and Bowser Jr., and those have been taken down by Nintendo of America claiming copyright.
Sadly, I don't think I'll believe Lucas still has a chance for much longer...

OK guys, here's the deal. We've all seen the leak. Since I never mained Lucas, I'll use as much knowledge I can remember of my time playing as him. First things first, the leak.

Really? We're trusting some random person out there with Smash information? C'mon guys! We don't even know who's leaking this stuff! Until I know who's leaking this, I wouldn't believe a THING this leak is saying. Summed up, this means don't give up hope. Because honestly, even I think Lucas will make his return. And for all of you saying he was a clone...let's look at his moveset, shall we?

Special: PK Freeze. Why is this move unique? Well, yes. PK Freeze and PK Flash do have the same remote-control mechanic. But do I see Ness' special freezing people? Uh...no.
Side Special: PK Fire. Why is this move unique? Same name, COMPLETELY different property. Lucas' PK Fire does not score multiple hits. It's just a one-and-done event.
Up Special: PK Thunder. Why is this move unique? Again, same name, different usage. Lucas' PK Thunder goes through opponents, so you can get multiple hits. Lucas' PK Thunder also moves a bit slower.
Down Special: PSI Magnet. Why is this move unique? Well, there isn't anything to really distinguish Ness' and Lucas Down Specials...so...I've got nothing...but anyways...

Lucas is not getting cut. His differences in just his special moves (not counting his aerials, smashes, or other attacks), already lends him a moveset that belongs to him and him only. I therefore state that Lucas is not a clone, and just a reminder, don't give up hope because of the leak until we have confirmation on another character (design art will confirm or debunk the leak) or until we know who's giving this stuff out. Here's hoping Lucas makes his return!

Despite that DLC leak being debunked, I still believe DLC will be possible. What I find strange is that the Devil Car from Mother 1 is present as a trophy and a Smash Run Enemy.
It could be hinting at a Ninten Alt for Ness, but just having them reference Mother 1 and ignore the 3rd game (at least for now) seems pretty strange.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that Lucas would be the easiest of the cut characters to save. All they would have to do is make him an ALT of Ness, especially if the Alph and Koopa Kids ALTs are real like the leak strongly implied. They could technically compile Ninten, Ness, and Lucas into one character, maybe even bring Paula and Kumatora into the mix if they felt bold enough.

Going to be harsh, but knowing Sakurai all of them will be cut, especially as the roster nears its end.

I'm about 90% on the leak being real but I am still think Lucas might have a chance and I will believe that until he gets offically kicked. Even if he does there is a chance in the future with DLC. Considering Mario Kart 8 just got some announced it is not impossible. Just hoping every Veteran that gets cut can come back with DLC too.

Sakurai had always liked to keep a lot of traditions in smash, and one of them is having 4 unnanounced newcomers in smash after release. Let me explain
64 : Jigglypuff, Ness, Captain falcon and Luigi
Melee : Originally, Mr. G&W, marth, mewtwo and King DDD were going to be the hidden 4, but they decided to implement the develoment time they had for DDD on 6 clones.
Brawl : Toon link, wolf, lucario and wolf.

Ok so now that part of the roster has been leaked and the all-star mode is locked means there are unlocked characters left, neozero confirmed from his source that there's still remaining characters that we might not expect. And Vaanrose and other part of the leaker confirmed that Motherfu*****leaker had lied about DLC and Mach rider and Co being unlockable. That means the the roster has 5 spots open.
So these characters could be part of the remaining 4 secrect unlocks : shulk, dark pit, dog hunt
Those are the most possible ones to take part of the secret 4.
That could say that 2 or 3 of the five unlocked characters are newcomers and the rest veterans.
If IC are really cut that means there's more chance for lucas, mewtwo and wolf to get in. Or if mewtwo isn't added either.
And also, devil car from mother 1 and magicant appear too so why include mother 1 related stuff and left mother 3 out?
Also if dark pit isn't an alt costume neither is Dr. Mario then lucas won't be. He already has a different moveset already implanted.
The hope for lucas doesn't die, stay strong guys.

Dude the leak is real. Sorry to burst your bubble. The video evidence should be enough, but then the leaker even posted a ton of pictures of smash bros 3ds that have lined up with the new POTDs. When the videos were taken down it even said that they were taken down by Nintendo of America. There still could be more characters left, and hopefully Lucas is one of them, but the leak is still real.

Yesterday's PoTD does not confirm the leak. Here's why: http://www.smashbros.com/us/movielist/ Go to the E3 trailer for Smash 3DS. Then stop at around 0:53-0:54. Wait a minute...isn't that...the SPECTATOR SCREEN?!?! The picture of the Spectator Screen from the leaker could just have been a small tweak to those shown in this trailer.

And I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff out there that we've already seen before this leak, and that the leaker could have just tweaked the pictures from previous videos of Smash 4. I'm still going to look for even more evidence against this stupid leak, buying into something without any PROVEN details or any evidence from other sources is just bogus.

Actually you can as it is allegedly Smash 4 game-play, that is the way the video was presented. Nintendo is practically obligated to claim copyright infringement.

Regardless, I still have faith in Lucas. He is not going anywhere!

I know that it's hard to have faith in this kind of stuff. I'm a Mother fan myself, so i know what it's like. But, for all we know, this leak could be real. You just have to believe, i mean, i don't think Sakurai would cut Lucas. It's bad enough that the series already gets the crap and s*** that it already does, i doubt Sakurai would take away what little the fans have left and cut one of the Mother Reps. without replacing them, or just cut them period. I think Lucas will be back, along with Wolf and Ice Climbers. Besides, its better to have hope, even if you do get crushed in the end, Lucas is a unique character and isn't a clone, so he has a decent chance of coming back. Besides, NOA is sick and tired of the Mother fans outcrying against how unfair they treat the franchise, i doubt Sakurai would do something to make that outcry even louder. The last thing NOA wants is more Mother fans b****ing.
