If Pico isn't a playable character in brawl then yes he would most likely be an assist trophy but because of his storyline importance (Which no one but me will admit he has) and his original four status he is a likely playable character.
No it doesn't. The fact that he is Falcons rival and his original four status made him important enough to be an AT but his complete unimportance to the story made him unworthy of being playable.
Why?
Black Shadow is not never has been and never will be Falcons nemesis. Deathborn is Falcons true nemesis and Pico was the first evil character in the series which makes them both villains who are more important than mr. batman wannabe.
I could care less if you support him I just want you people to realize his high chances.
So? Goroh's completely irrevelent to the story and by adding Pico as a PC instead of Goroh they could increase Pico's popularity so he's as famous as Goroh
Only because they for some reason think he is the main villain when he's not. Black Shadow is a completely unimportant character and has always been Deathborns puppet. Also Sakurai said himself that popular characters bore him
Yes it DOES matter he caused a great crash because of the important effects it had on the story like Blood Falcon being created, F-Zero being shut down for a few years and I think the robot guy (Gazzelle something) was turned into what he is because of it.

I shouldn't even have to defend this argument since Marth being in melee basically proved it to be right. The original characters in a series are the ones who started it all therefore making them all stars of that franchise. The fact that they are the only four characters on the F-Zero GX cover art alone should prove that. Now Pico and Falcon are the two members of the original four who are most important story wise so it would make sense to have them as the two playable characters while Stewart and Goroh are AT's. this way all four of them get into brawl withought taking as much time and space.
EDIT: I love how the idiots who think their smart are the first to spam.

Black Shadow: Black Shadow is a cold-blooded king of evil feared by all. However, Captain Falcon has seen much success capturing his foot soldiers, and Black Shadow wants nothing more than to see the end of this meddling bounty hunter, preferably in front of millions of fans.
Deathborn: This mysterious pilot makes even Black Shadow, the evil emperor, shudder with fear. Since the huge accident four years ago, several F-Zero pilots have turned up missing--in all of the missing-persons investigations conducted by the Space Police, Deathborn was the primary suspect. Deathborn has died three times, but each time was brought back to life by exchanging his real body parts for mechanical ones. Though these procedures he has become essentially immortal. A device installed within his body allows him to travel freely through space, making it possible for him to mysteriously appear anywhere at any time. He banishes those he dislikes to the outer limits of space, where they become drifting vagabonds for all eternity. Deathborn is plotting to take over the universe--his plan is to obtain the ultimate power that would allow him to determine life and death on every star as he sees fit.

And next to Goroh, Pico seems to interest me the most.

Black Shadow being the main villain is debatable so stop bringing it up also the great crash is THE most important event in F-Zero history for reasons I've already covered. Then there is the original four thing.
It might be the most important event, but Pico isn't the most important character in the series, also if Black Shadow isn't the villain then who is? IIRC Deathborn has only appeared in GX. Also the Four original thing is irrelevant, Samurai Goroh is a AT Pico could also be an AT or just don't appear in the game.

Well DUH it doesn't make him the most important character in the franchise, that honor goes to the mascot captain falcon. It does however put him above all of the insignifigant drivers who aren't important to the story which is basically like 98% of the F-Zero roster.
He may have only appeared in GX but from the very begining Deathborne had been behind the scenes controlling Black Shadow like a puppet.
You once again say this point is irrevelant withought any reason and just leave it at that. GOROH IS AN IRREVELANT CHARACTER! Stop putting Goroh on a high pedestal and acting like he is the second most important character in the series when he isn't. You put too much emphasis on Goroh's rival status and because of that when he became an AT everyone instantly either started thinking F-Zero was getting one rep or thinking that it was either Black Shadow or no one. THINK BEFORE BLINDLY SUPPORTING A CHARACTER!
